Old Navy Spring Preview.

Old Navy Fall Preview 1

Old Navy’s events are always so much fun (remember their Fall Preview, here?) albeit a bit dangerous as I inevitably want everything… but have to wait until the following season to get it! The Spring collection is really, really beautiful… making me long for warmer temperatures. The event had a roadtrip theme, making for a super fun night… complete with a photobooth, a Farmer’s Market stand, and yummy snacks.

The outfit above is probably my favorite look from the collection… it’s just so cute and easy! (I was really excited to see lots of bright skirts and colorful fedoras as a part of the lineup.) Also in the mix? Some really great trench coats, cute striped dresses, and lots of fun sneakers. I’ve put together a recap of my faves… get ready to be excited for Spring!

My friend Molly was in town from Dallas for the event which was exciting… she (and her blog) are a favorite of mine so it was nice to get to catch up and grab dinner afterward. Catching up with Hitha and Lindsay above.

I love these looks! I hope some of the items are less boxy than years past. Such great pics especially that white dress!! It screams for Mexico or the Greek Isles!

I really love that tunic/dress that has the heather grey t-shirt shoulders that is navy and has white polka dot shapes !!! It would look so cute with a pair of heather grey leggings for Spring and Summer and a pair of those adorable canvas shoes . Great for touring around Europe or your own local downtown area . Comfy & cute ! Looking forward to Old Navy’s collection !!!!
Thanks for sharing this Grace 🙂

While I know that Old Navy is one of your sponsors, I can’t believe that you’d endorse their clothes with your fashion sense and taste. Their clothes are terrible quality, don’t wear well, and don’t wash well. So sad, considering that the rest of your clothing is impeccable!

Hi Rachel! First of all, thank you for the compliment on my clothing/fashion taste…that’s nice of you to say! That said, I have to tell you, sponsorships aside, I wear a LOT of Old Navy in my everyday life (as I write this I’m wearing a tunic sweater that I bought there last year with J.Crew leggings and some fancier heels.)

Everyone is different, but to me, great style is about mixing + matching high end with low end, expensive with inexpensive, vintage and things from years ago with newer pieces, etc. etc. and Old Navy is a big staple in my wardrobe. They have the greatest basics and I actually find the quality to be pretty good. I mean, a $20 sweater isn’t going to last as long as a $500 sweater(or at least I would hope not!) but for the value, I think it’s pretty great and on par with other brands I shop regularly, like Madewell, J.Crew, etc. In the past two years the only thing from them I’ve had to throw out was a pocket tee that I wore so many times it became threadbare (but the same happened with tees I have from other stores.) And it’s funny because I have three of their flannel shirts and have them thrown ’em in the washer + dryer several times now, only to have them get softer and cozier. I’m not trying to pimp my sponsor or change your mind, but you might want to consider giving the brand another chance! (or don’t, but I wanted to explain my perspective a little for you!)

Anyway, that was a long response… but I really do appreciate that you took the time to comment here – all opinions + (contructive!) criticism are welcome here.

Thanks, Grace. Maybe I’ll think about giving them a try again. It’s been awhile. I do shop at JCrew and Madewell. Keep up the great work – I look forward to your posts every morning!

I’m a huge sucker for Old Navy (especially their prices), and I am so excited for this collection! (Albeit not that excited, because It’s only November and I’m still basking in the beauty of the Winter collection)

Old Navy is fun. Just like any store, sometimes they have some cute things and sometimes I can’t find anything. I hang-dry many of my clothes to preserve them, because I don’t have endless money to constantly buy new. I just thought I would mention that, because of one of the negative posts, which I agree their clothing is less quality than more expensive brands. I think like with anything, if you preserve your clothes, choose the right ones, and take care of what you have, they will last.

That’s such a good point Cathleen. I do that a lot as well. There is actually one ON sweater that I’m so obsessed with (the one I’m wearing in this post: http://www.stripesandsequins.com/2013/03/weekends-at-home.html) that I get it dry cleaned every couple times I wear it. I know it’s not going to last forever but I’m determined to keep it for as long as possible!
