I tried a lot of beauty products this month but only have eight that I’m going to recommend today. I try a lot of stuff, and try and only show you the very best of the best. Everything in this post is completely obsession worthy… enjoy!
First up is Bite Beauty’s Matte Crème Lip Crayons. I know I already talked about them earlier this month, but I am just so obsessed with these pencils. They’re a game changer if you are into natural beauty, and I still can’t get over how great the pigments are.. or how long they stay on. It’s all about that orange peel wax. (Seriously, it is… it locks in color without drying.) I’ve been really into Fraise for special occasions (a jewel-tone red) or Tatin for everyday wear (a dusty pink that looks good on everyone.
Next, Lucas’ Papaw Ointment. Everytime I get my makeup done, the makeup artist seems to have this on hand. It makes for a great moisturizer (especially for super dry spots – lips, knees, elbows, etc.) I’d been meaning to pick up a tube and finally broke down and ordered it when my skin was doing tricks. In a moment of weakness I had smeared Vaseline all over my face… never again, now I’m using this. It’s all natural and made in Australia from pure papaws. (FYI – Papaws are an Australian fruit that is similar to papaya.)
Cleansing balms are all the rage right now (and so fantastic during the change of seasons) and I’m hooked on Omorovicza’s Thermal Cleansing Balm. They bill it as the best cleanser you will ever use which felt like quite a statement, but I really do love it. It’s a thick black balm (you massage it into dry skin) and detoxifies, clears out pores, and removes impurities… all the while nourshing skin and leaving it crazy soft. It smells faintly of citrus. I actually have it on as I write this post… sometimes I like to leave it on as a mask for extra detoxification.
Bite Beauty’s Agave Lip Mask. So, although this is technically a mask (it’s amazing if you apply a thick layer at bed time) it is also kinda awesome as a gloss. There are two variations… clear (best before bed) and champagne (for the loveliest sheer wash of color. You know by now that I became a complete + utter junkie for all things Bite pretty much overnight, but it’s a good thing. The products really work, the pigments are of the highest quality, and they’re all natural.
This month I tried a luxurious new-to-me line, called Kypris, a simple line of serums + beauty elixirs. The products are all organic (with sustainably grown ingredients) and high performance. I tried out their 1,000 Roses Beauty Elixir (their most popular product) and the Antioxidant Dew and was impressed by how hydrated and soft my skin felt after using both.
Sisley’s new Phyto-Teint Expert Fluid Foundation is ultra light and comfortable and does not feel like foundation at all. I rarely wear makeup on my face but I LOVE this stuff. I wore it on the night of my birthday party (my shade is ivory) and everyone thought my skin was naturally flawless. Ha. This stuff is good… really good.
The coloring of this image above is a little bit off but bareMinerals Buttercream Lip Gloss in Moody Berry looks just like a glossy version of Clinique’s Black Honey. I’ve been wearing it a lot, as seen here (straight out of the tube) + here (blotted.)
Last but not least, I bought myself This Works Deep Sleep Bath Oil for my birthday. I’d been wanting it for a while (ever since Kim France featured it here, calling it “Better than Drugs.” I have a really hard time sleeping at night. A little of this in the bath, or even just on my pulse points before bed does the trick. It smells incredibly good… I agree with Kim – even a little bit sexy due to the notes of patchouli and coconut. This is a very special oil. Yes it’s pricy, but in my book… completely worth it.
PS – See what made the cut last month right this way…
I highly recommend the Andalou Naturals 1000 Roses Moroccan Beauty Oil. Its ingredient list is similar to that of the Kypris Beauty Elixir, but it is about 1/10 of the price. The hot pink glass bottle doesn’t hurt either!
Kathleen, thank you so much for the suggestion! I only have a tiny vial of the Kypris Elixir and it’s almost gone… I’m going to check this out as I love Andalou!
Thank you for sharing your beauty product adventures! Definitely would love to try that bath oil!
Warm Regards,
Alexandra

I LOVE bite beauty. Definitely puts me at ease to wear chemical-free lip products and I agree – not a compromise at all on quality. Can’t get enough of plush, rich reds these days. Just posted a “red lip how-to” actually:
