Oh fashion week… we love it, we hate it, we love + hate complaining about how busy we are. Yesterday was the first day, and I started things off on a bright note… by oversleeping. #fail. I stumbled into the shower and into my outfit (which fortunately had been carefully selected the night before) and into an uber. I’m a little impressed with myself, though… I slept til 7:50 (oops) but managed to be at my first event by 8:35… not bad!
My first stop (before work) was to Ten over Ten – a gem of a nail salon located downtown. Gilt + Glamour Magazine collaborated on a collection of (amazing) shoes together, and we were treated to a sneak peek, along with a (much-needed in my case) pedicure. The collection goes on sale at noon on Friday and I have to say, it’s kind of bananas… a combination of Gilt’s industry expertise and knowledge of what styles + colors sell with Glamour’s amazing editors + eye for fashion. There are only nine styles (two of them above) and you’re likely going to want every single one. Also, the collection is affordably priced… starting at just $79! I love that Gilt has been doing more exclusives… they have an amazing understanding of what customers are looking for and always do such a good job. Mark your calendars, ladies!
We should discuss what I wore. I wore my fave beaded French Connection dress (c/o) and an armful of bracelets from BaubleBar and Holst + Lee. This pearl cuff from BaubleBar is one of my favorite things right now… I wear it every day, but in this case I love how it complemented the pearls on my dress.
After work, I headed downtown for the launch of Christian Siriano’s new fragrance, “Silhouette.” Coco Rocha was hosting the party as she is the face of the fragrance (wearing this BaubleBar ear cuff , I might add) but I couldn’t get a picture. I left rather quickly as the event was hot + rather crowded, but not before ogling all of the amazing dresses. The one above is from the campaign… drool!
After Christian Siriano, I wandered uptown to the Nicole Miller offices. How amazing is their gallery wall, above? I was there to preview Spring, but ended up meeting up with Hallie + Jess and hanging with them for a bit more. My friend Allison is in charge of their PR and gave us a behind the scenes peek, which was definitely one of the highlights of my day. We got to see the studio, peek at the model fittings, and meet Nicole. It was really cool to get a true insider’s look at where the magic happens… now I’m even more excited for Friday’s show!
I mean, these shoes… whaaaaat!?
The Spring collection is inspired by Brazil, and it’s incredible. It made me want to go somewhere warm (Rio?) and pack the whole collection with me. Vibrant corals + cobalts, fun fruit motifs, and exotic florals.
After Nicole Miller, I walked over to the Lulu Frost Preview. As always, Lulu never disappoints. My favorite piece from the Spring collection is the gold necklace above. It’s actually made of signet rings, linked together. Such a special + creative touch… I don’t know where she gets her inspiration from, but she never fails to impress.
It was too dark to take very many pictures, but rest assured, the entire collection is amazing. The theme is flora + fauna, and the collection was comprised of Lulu’s signature vintage components, tassel earrings, and lots of scarabs. BFA has more photos from the event that you can see here. I had a great time sipping on bubbly drinks + goofing around with Taylor + Lexi… they had a polaroid camera and we had fun hamming it up! (Here’s my necklace… from the Fall collection… definitely a favorite!)
I almost forgot.. Lulu is doing something really cool on their instagram today! You can actually shop next season’s collection ahead of time… buying the new styles NOW. Details are on their instagram page… enjoy!
This looks like so much fun/so exhausting! I love the Lulu Frost necklace you have from the fall collection, can’t wait to see all of her new pieces.
The Polaroids are too cute! And as for that necklace….SWOON.
