A Perfect Match.

I am really fussy about my face makeup. I’ve always subscribed to the skincare > makeup mentality and am very diligent with my skincare routine. That being said, my skin is sensitive and can get red from time to time. I have a few broken capillaries on my cheek and around my nose, and if I’ve been traveling too much my skin can get dull and ashy. So I like a little something to help even things out and give me a little bit of a glow.

Recently, No. 7 invited me in to try out their No.7 Match Made device in store. The device reads your skin tone precisely and then suggests the perfect foundation for you. As it turns out, my perfect shade is “cool vanilla.”

I went with the Stay Perfect Foundation which is actually the UK’s No. 1 foundation. The formula lasts for ages, will not smear, or fade, and stays fresh from day to night. It’s also perfect for my sensitive skin as it is fragrance free and doesn’t clog pores. On top of that, the formula contains SPF 15 (so incredibly important), Vitamin E, Pro-vitamin B5, ceramides, and antioxidants.

After using the foundation (in the above photo) my skin just feels like a better (glowier) version of itself, which is always the goal. My red spots and dark circles are concealed but nothing feels cakey or overdone.

The photo above is a strange shot but I wanted to show you how quickly the foundation absorbed into my skin. This is something that is really important to me. I can’t stand when a foundation sits on your skin… you feel it all day long. This one sinks in almost immediately, letting its magic do its work… covering up redness and imperfections but still letting your skin shine through!

And while I have you, I wanted to showcase two other No. 7 products that I love. This highlighting powder is beyond gorgeous… it gives skin the most luminous glow (and works really nicely with the foundation), and this dark circle corrector is pretty epic. The formula is sheer but still provides great coverage, and the applicator has three metal balls which instantly cool the skin and help with puffiness.

I should also note that the in-store device is currently available in the NYC area, but will be rolling out nationwide later this year!

I am in the same boat as you when it comes to skincare and makeup (except I’m more lazy about my skincare than I really want to be lmao).

I also HATE being aware of my makeup. Maybe that’s why I hate wearing makeup a lot period. And when I do, I like to wear as little as possible while still having my face be a 2.0 version of itself.

I like how quickly the no. 7 seems to absorb. It seems to be as comfortable as you say it is. I would consider it 🙂

I have been using their eye cream for ages and people always asks what I use, because I look young for my age! I’m going to try this

We have the in store device here in SF in our super Walgreens that looks like a department store. I heard that NYC and SF have the first two of these stores in the country and they carry the full line of Boots products .

This sounds tempting, especially if it sinks in that quickly. I hate when makeup feels as though it’s just sitting on top of my face!!

I’ve been wearing No. 7 since I discovered it during a study abroad (long before I could reorder on the internet!) I learned to stockpile, press notes into friends’ hands as they left for London and I almost cried when they came stateside. I have pale pink sensitive skin and No. 7 is the goods.

(I won’t even tell you for how many years I used a lip brush to dig out the remains of my favorite, beloved discontinued No. & lipstick. It’s shameful.)
