Night Pillow Review!

Okay I have been meaning to write this post FOREVER now as this pillow is one of my absolute most favorite things. It’s a memory foam pillow with a special silk pillowcase. If you listen to the podcast, you know this (they’ve been a sponsor for nearly a year now!) but I get asked about this pillow all the time, if I really do love it as much as I say I do (I DO!!!), and what makes it so great. So here is my review. And if you are intrigued remember that a) use my code (GRACE20) for 20% off and b) they have a no questions ask, 101 night guarantee so if you don’t like it – but you will!!!!

Getting a good night’s sleep is so important to me – I really pride myself on having that perfect sleep environment. To me, having the right pillow is just as important as having the right mattress… and as setting the tone for a good night of sleep (taking my CBD, reading for at least a half an hour (ideally an hour!), drinking enough water (but not too much!), etc. This pillow has made SUCH a difference in my quality of sleep and when I travel I miss it! (They do have a travel case for the pillow but I like traveling light… I just can’t be the person that travels with her pillow… yet?!)

PS – Night also has the most amazing (super breathable, mask-ne proof) face mask!

NIGHT Pillow Review

I have had my NIGHT Pillow for years. I first wrote about the pillow here in 2016 when I did a post about tips for a good night of sleep. Since then, I’ve upgraded from the standard size pillow to two king size pillows. It has amazing benefits that are both aesthetic (better skin and hair) and anatomical (the way it supports your head and neck)

Meet the NIGHT Pillow

This pillow is made from a special type of memory foam. I like that it’s flatter than my fluffy pillows, and very firm. It cradles your head, but it bounces back immediately so if you move around it will adapt to your sleep position. There are two sizes: standard queen  which measures 24 x 5 x 16 inches and king which measures 32 x 5 x 18 inches.

Key Features

Memory Foam

This memory foam pillow has been called “the most comfortable pillow in the world” by many a celebrity and I have to agree. The memory foam core is what makes it so special (but it’s better than any other memory foam pillow I’ve tried… other memory foams can be so dense and heavy). I find the comfort and support it provides to be unparalleled.

What I love most about it is that it is that it’s super lightweight, and that it self-adjusts to whatever sleep position you choose (I tend to alternate between sleeping on my side and on my stomach. I will add that the pillow is really good for stomach sleepers!

Black TriSilk Case

The mulberry silk pillowcase (you get one with your pillow!) is custom-fit to the pillow. At first I found the black color strange, but that’s for a reason – it negates light for a deeper sleep! It’s breathable, comfortable, and also just feels really nice.

Two notes on this! I recommend ordering an extra case or two so that you’re never without one! You can definitely machine wash it. I don’t know that you are supposed to but I send my pillowcases out with my regular wash & fold laundry and have had no issues with that // I know some people prefer to hand wash.

I will also add that the pillowcase is black for a reason (to block out light) BUT I am really happy that they’ve launched colorful pillowcases as well if the black hue is not for you… I keep mine under my duvet so that you can’t see it but I also have and love the white ones, pictured above!

My NIGHT Pillow Review

Pros of the NIGHT Pillow

Better Sleep // I sleep so much better with this pillow. So much better.

Better Hair // This is a big one for me; the silk covering helps to prevent tangling and bedhead and definitely helps to make a blowout last longer. I pull my hair up into a silk scrunchy before bed and between that and a night pillow don’t have to style my hair at all the next day. (A caveat that I have very thick, dry hair so when I do get a blowout, it lasts several days!)

Better Skin //  One of the things I’ve personally noticed is that when I wake up in the morning, my skin has less pillow creases. There is also evidence that sleeping with a silk pillowcase can help prevent wrinkles.

Cons of the NIGHT Pillow

There aren’t really any cons, if we are being honest! I love mine so much. I will say that I bought it for my parents and they definitely weren’t sure about it at first (if you are used to always sleeping with down pillows there will be an adjustment!)

It is expensive, but the 101 night guarantee makes it pretty risk-free. If you hate it, just send it back and they will donate it.

The Verdict

I recommend this pillow to everyone I know, especially finicky sleepers. It’s such a game changer. Get this pillow!! This has made SUCH a big difference in my own personal sleep and I sleep so much better with it. (I even got an extra one for my parents’ house in Charleston so that I can sleep with it when I go home!) I am two steps away from getting the travel case. If I didn’t insist on traveling so lightly, it would definitely be on that train!

Oh my God, I need to invest in this! I’ve been thinking about getting a silk pillowcase lately too – my friend got one in December and she’s been raving about it! The memory foam pillow with a silk pillowcase sounds like a dream haha! 😀

Grace, you and Becca influenced me and I’ve had my Night pillow for about 2 months. Dang, it’s good!!! I have a very short hair cut and it doesn’t give me insane bed head. It also helped when I had a healing cartilage piercing. This pillow is not too much pressure but support that kind of cradles your head. You’ve influenced me on so much, but this might be my all time fave Be like Grace-purchase! 🙂

Is there any difference between the standard and king sized Night Pillows besides size? I think I’m finally ready to buy one!

Hi! I’ve been looking into investing in pillows, and this one is definitely on my list to try! One question – I usually sleep with two pillows. Not sure if you ever did this, but I’m wondering if just one Night pillow would probably do it (since they don’t collapse/sink so much)? I want to make a good investment but buying two for myself just seems a little much, ha! Totally fine if you have no idea, just thought I’d ask 🙂

I think one is probably enough. That’s a lot of memory foam for one person! Maybe start with one and pair with a down pillow? But it’s all personal; I personally prefer a lower pillow or I will get neck pain!

I bought the “two is better than one” deal around Christmas and I’m so in love with these pillows. I sleep on my back and having the right neck support is really important. I’m excited about the additional colored pillow cases, even though I have really liked the black ones that it comes with.

I’ve had my Night pillow for a few years now, since your first review. I love it! I wait until the Nordie sale and have bought two of their silk pillow cases and change those out with the Night one. I am also not crazy about the black and prefer the softer colors. Yes, they are expensive, but worth every penny. Thank you for the rec!

    Hi Grace,
I hope you’re swapping out your pillows frequently, though it sounds like you do? They accumulate a lot of nastiness over time (I’ll leave it up to you to research) even when used with either/both pillow protectors and pillowcases, so the general rule is to replace your pillows every 1 to 2 years to keep things hygienic.
Besides, nothing feels more amazing than new bed stuff right??? I’m one of those that thinks getting into a bed with fresh sheets and duvet cover is bliss though, so what do I know? 😉

I love mine! bought it when I heard you rave about it on the podcast. I got an xtra pillow case when I bought it. Next purchase was the travel case and just recently a Night Beauty Pillow 2-ways.
I love this version even more. It seems a bit thicker to give my neck good support. I can’t sleep on anything else now! Thanks for sharing this with your listeners

I use the beauty version of this as I’m a side sleeper. I bought my original one two or so years ago and when I ordered another I bought the “night” which actually is different. The beauty has that lovely indent. Anyways also love it. Travel w it. Have the eye mask. Great company too.

Love the pillow, and I bought the travel pillow over the winter! I feel so dumb, but it just doesn’t sit right on my neck lol. Is it supposed to lay with the flat side on my neck or the other side?

Hi! For the travel pillow, the curve goes on your neck! I thought it was too high at first but once you have it on your neck and relax into it, it’s magical. Took a bit of getting used to.

I bought a night pillow because you raves about it for side sleepers and two stack pillow fans. I slept on it for a while and found it was hurting my neck and shoulders. Do you stack a pillows top? Do you sleep with two night pillows?

    Story Time!

Was influenced to buy this pillow bc of your love for it. Got it and knew pretty immediately that I hated it. It smelled really awful, and it just wasn’t comfortable.

So I called to chat with them about a return, and I was told that their supplier switched things up on them. The foam that is used NOW isn’t the same as the OG pillows, apparently.

They offered to send me an older pillow! I’m going to try this out, but am so chuffed with the EXCELLENT customer service I don’t care if it works for me.

They are still a great company!

Hi Grace! Not sure if you will read this since I know this is an older post, but I just received my pillow in the mail (yay!) and was wondering if yours had a strong chemical smell at first? I’m bummed because I can’t sleep with it tonight. I’m just hoping that a few days of airing it out will make the smell go away. Would love your input if you see this! Thanks for the rec, I’m excited to try it out.
