This late summer humidity has my hair a little sad looking. Even if I get a blowout, oof… my hair puffs up within an hour. I’ve found myself putting my hair in a ponytail or braid more often than not, which is fine for everyday errands and the gym, but not as cute if I’m going out for the night. Lucky for me (and you if you suffer the same!), NEXXUS New York Salon Care’s Oil Infinite Nourishing Hair Oil solves all of my frizzy hair woes.
It’s designed for coarse, dull, and/or thick hair. My hair is not particularly coarse, but it’s super thick and has a tendency to get dull, especially if I’ve been spending too much time at the beach. This treatment actually contains six different oils (including pure Amazonian Babassu Oil, which has been used for generations as a rich emollient, and African Marula Oil, which is renowned for its healing properties). This nourishing hair oil deeply penetrates the hair fiber (as opposed to just coating the surface of the hair follicle – this part is really important). All of this adds up to reduced frizz and softer, more manageable hair.
I like to use the oil a few different ways…
1) If I’m letting my hair air dry wavy, I’ll apply 2-3 pumps (you might not need this much, I have a LOT of hair) to towel-dried hair, and then some mousse to add more control. I won’t touch my hair until it’s dry, and when it dries my hair will be soft and wavy… no frizz.
2) If I blowout my own hair, I’ll mix in one pump of this with my styling cream. It adds shine and makes the whole blowout process a bit smoother.
3) If I get my hair blown out, I’ll apply about half a pump to my hands, rub them together, and smooth the oil through my hair to add shine + prevent it from puffing up and getting frizzy. (I’ll do this on day two or three of the blowout as well.)
