If you do one thing, if you make one “beauty resolution” for your skin this year, it should be this: Always, always take your makeup off every night before bed. It makes a world of difference, especially when it comes to the texture of your skin. (If I sleep in my makeup I almost always get those annoying little bumps on my cheeks and the pores on my nose will look terrible the next day – yuck). If I am traveling, have a big event, or am just tired, I always keep Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes in my nightstand to make sure I get my makeup off before I fall asleep. They remove 99.3% of makeup (even lifting away waterproof mascara!) As there is no rinsing required, they are ultra convenient. (I also keep them in my gym bag – there’s nothing worse than getting all sweaty and having your makeup come off during a run or in the steam room at the gym). On top of that, they’re ultra gentle – you don’t have to worry about any redness or irritation if you have sensitive skin like I do.
PS – Don’t take my word for it… the wipes won Allure’s Best of Beauty Awards, which is a serious honor. Every year Allure editors spend four months testing out thousands of products (they’ve been doing so since 1996!) narrowing it down to 250+ winners, which represent the most effective and innovative products of the year. You can see all the winners here and shop them on Amazon here! (Use code 20BEAUTYDEAL to take 20% off!)

I cannot agree more – always remove your makeup at the end of the day! I don’t know why people are so lazy with it when it’s their skin! 🙁

So so important!! Skincare is the most important thing you can do for yourself.
While youre talking skincare, any tips on reducing redness after workouts? I’ll do a lunch time class and may face remains flushed for hours.
I get really red as well sometimes. Drinking ice cold water to bring down my body temp helps, but my favorite is to put a damp washcloth in the freezer and then put it on my face after I stop sweating. Cooling face products like a cucumber or milk mask can also help.
Yeah, I am not an expert but I would say do something to cool off! At Equinox, I use the eucalyptus towels that they keep in the fridge… you could do this at home too – a cold towel with a little essential oil. Or try anything designed to cool the face off…. I keep my sheet masks in the fridge which also helps!
I completely agree about removing makeup every night before bed. I honestly have never understood why people don’t, because it doesn’t take more than a minute. I’m not a big fan of facial wipes (although there are some great full-body ones that I use after a workout when I don’t have time to shower), but I swear by a good micellar water and cotton pads. I find it gets my makeup off more easily and my face feels cleaner, not to mention the oils in the water keep my skin more moisturized. My absolute go-to is Bioderma Sensibio, which is both high quality and really inexpensive. I keep some at home, in my travel bag, and my gym bag!
I know, it really doesn’t take very long. I love the wipes for when I’m traveling, tired, or at the gym. You can keep them in your nightstand or in your bag so NO EXCUSES!
These are my staple makeup remover wipes!! I swear I’ve been buying them for years now. Can’t travel without them.
They really are the best!!! Glad you love them too.
I don’t know if you’ve ever tried the Neutrogena Night Calming Wipes (they come in a lilac coloured package) but they are honest to goodness the best make up removing wipes I’ve ever used, and I’m religious about removing my make up. They leave your skin so soft and they smell so good and relaxing. Plus I think whatever is on your skin afterwards must be really good for your skin, I’m always glowy after using them. Highly recommend!
OMG I need to try these!!! Thanks for the suggestion. xo
The best – I use those exact wipes and couldn’t agree more!
So glad you agree – they are the best!!!
