Necessaire Body Lotion Review.

Necessaire Body Lotion Review

I have gone through countless bottles of Necessaire’s Body Lotion now but never done a proper review. I posted an empty tube the other day and a reader messaged me, “What’s so special about it!?!”

Necessaire Body Lotion Review

I get it. It’s an unscented body lotion, and those can be a dime a dozen. The quick answer is that it hydrates my dry skin all day long, leaving it smooth and silky… but never greasy. In my personal experience, most body lotions are either not hydrating enough OR leave my skin kind of greasy. So I usually go the greasy route as that’s way better than dry. But this just sinks right in and leaves my skin truly and silky. So my skin just feels like soft, silky skin.

I also like that it’s totally clean and free of all the bad stuff.

And I am not fully clean with the products I put on my face but am stricter with body products. I know it’s probably a silly rationalization but… surface area! I also love that it contains skincare-quality ingredients. It’s packed with omegas and vitamins A, C, & E to nourish and brighten, but it also contains one of my favorite skincare ingredients: Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) which helps to strengthen the skin. I religiously use an eye cream with Niacinamide to strengthen the skin under my eyes, and I like to think that using a body cream with it might have the same effect on my more wobbly bits – backs of thighs, stomach, etc! There’s no proof but it definitely doesn’t hurt.

The main thing I like though is that it’s “just right.”

Not greasy, not drying… it’s my perfect body lotion.

If you don’t have dry skin, this review may sound super silly. If that is the case, you probably don’t need it. I always like to be really honest. But if you are like me and feel like Goldilocks with your body lotions and creams, this could be “the one.” It is truly just an excellent product. Also, (I really do try to not judge my products on this but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t matter to me), I love the packaging. It’s perfect and minimal. I have a very small bathroom so minimal packaging makes me extra happy.

Sounds great! How does it compare to the Ren body serum you recommend?

Really different! The body serum is an exfoliant – what makes it so great is that it sloughs off dead skin cells, etc. I usually will do oil or lotion over it – dream team! This is a traditional moisturizer. So you could use them together.

If they ever discontinue making this body lotion, I’ll be devastated. (That goes for the body wash, too.) I’ve lost count of how many bottles I’ve purchased, too! I use it every single day, from shoulders to toes. A couple of things I’ve noticed over time with consistent use: it helps keep bumpy skin at bay on my arms and back, and really improves some eczema patches I have on my legs.
