I know I do a ton of beauty posts as I’m always trying out new things and covering different beauty trends, but today I wanted to put together a very simple straightforward post with my everyday beauty routine. When I’m not testing out something new, I do try to stick to a consistent skincare routine as my skin is pretty sensitive. Typically my testing process works as follows. I’ll try out new products one at a time (keeping the rest of my routine the same). If the product doesn’t work or I have a bad reaction, it immediately goes into either the trash (if it’s really bad) or my giveaway pile (if I think a friend might like it). If it works, I will keep using it for 1-2 weeks to make sure that I really like it… and then, + only then it will make it onto the blog for a product review. Keeping the rest of my routine consistent helps me to see if the new product is any good, and also minimizes any irritation… my skin doesn’t like it when I try a bunch of new stuff all at once. So today I wanted to share what those products are.. the ones I use to the very last drop.
We’ll start with skincare. As I mentioned in other posts, I really love an oil cleanser, especially this time of year. It takes all my makeup off and leaves my skin soft. Afterwards, I’ll use a gentle purifying cleanser to get my skin extra clean. After cleansing, I’ll pat my face dry and then pat in SK-II’s treatment essence. You pat this in until your skin is dry, and then I’ll apply serum. I love the Vintner’s Daughter as it is all natural and leaves my skin glowing. (Note: before finding the Vintner’s Daughter, I used this one from Om Aroma Co. It’s priced a bit better + really great if your skin tends to get red, which mine does in the winter).
Then comes moisturizer. For daytime, I’ll use Tata’s Repairative Moisturizer, and at night I will use her Elixir Vitae. I also love this French Girl Organics face cream for both day and night – it’s all natural and relatively affordable vs. Tata Harper. I’ll finish things off with this eye cream (a new holy grail item) and this lip balm.

Next up is makeup. My makeup routine probably takes me less than 5 minutes… most of which is spent on my eyelashes. While I probably overdo it on skincare a bit, I try to keep my makeup routine pretty simple. I always start with tinted moisturizer and have recently become addicted to The Cure. I am going to do a longer post about this later, but it’s amazing. It just makes my skin look so, so good. I don’t really know why, or how it works as well as it does, but it’s amazing. It only comes in one shade but it adjusts to your skintone. For redness and/or dark circles, this is the best concealer I’ve ever tried and I love that it comes with two shades and a bit of translucent powder to set it. Then I’ll add a bit of bronzer (I’ve been using Benefit Hoola since college, which is over ten years ago!) and a bit of blush (Tata’s cheek tint in “Very Sweet” is so pretty and has a bit of shimmer.) Then I’ll apply Becca’s Shimmering Pore Perfector (read my full review here – it’s bananas) to my brow bones + temples.
On my eyes, I really love Urban Decay’s Waterline liners (as you might guess, they’re designed specifically to get the waterline). I look bad with a lot of liner so I only apply a little to the inner rim and right at my top lashline. Then comes Bobbi Brown’s long wear eyeshadow stick (in the golden bronze shade) which I basically smudge on right above my eyeliner and call it a day. These are a godsend as they stay on all day but aren’t drying or greasy which can be the case with a lot of long wear products. I’ll use this L’Oreal mascara (it gives such dramatic lashes) and then either Chanel Boy (my forever and always fave) or Bite’s Cashmere Lip Cream in Sherry (the perfect red-orange) if I’m headed somewhere fancy.
That’s pretty much it… what are your fave everyday products?
Love that Chanel mascara and Hoola by Benefit is my holy grail blush! I need to get an under-eye cream. Thanks for sharing!

I’ve heard such great things about Tata Harper products- I’ll have to give them a try!
Great post!! I’ve heard so many great things about Tata Harper and I think I’ll have to try some products out! If there’s only one product of hers you would recommend, what would it be?

I thought you had a post about dating today? Is it taken down? I saw it on your snapchat and was so excited to read it!
No, just keep scrolling- I did two other posts 🙂
Hi Grace,
Does your Tata Harper Purifying Cleanser stay on your face while your cleaning? Every time I use this, most of the product runs down my arms and barely stays on my face while I’m trying to clean. Maybe I’m doing something wrong??
Hi Kristen,
No – it doesn’t!!! All the way down your arms? That sounds terrible!!! Mine just works like a normal gel cleanser… it’s a bit more viscous than some of my cleansers, but I’ve never had any trouble. You should reach out to Tata’s customer service, I wonder if you got a bad bottle!
The prices on some of these products – yikes! $185 for foundation? $380 for moisturizer? I like your blog but those prices are way out of reach for most people. Even in NYC.
Tata Harper is my go-to for skincare! Love all her stuff – it works well and smells like a European spa.
i JUST got the bare escentuals oil cleanser, (thanks to you!) have used it twice and my skin is softer than it has ever been. I am also using the cream you recommended by them a few poets back and love it just as much. thank you for all these great product reviews.
I highly recommend the Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing oil- it is fantastic. My face always feels so tight after using any other cleanser (even gentle stuff like Cetaphil). Worth a try if you are looking for a cheaper option!
Several people have recommended this! I am 100% getting my hands on a bottle to test next time I’m at the drugstore! Thank you for recommending 🙂
