My Favorite Candles.

Candles - The Stripe

Whenever I do a Q&A I get questions about my favorite candles!!! I originally posted this last year (and not a lot has changed) but I wanted to update it a little bit with a few updates. You probably know this but I’m such a candle addict and usually have at least one or two burning at a time. While it’s sort of holiday-y (I did include the Nest Holiday Candle and Thymes Frasier Fir which are my two FAVORITE holiday candles!) the rest of these are day to day favorites.

A new update for this year has been discovering the Jackson Vaughn candles at Society.

I love them! When I was in Dallas, Merritt was burning the JV Hudson Candle and I fell in love with the fragrance – it’s the perfect holiday candle. I got home and ordered four of them… it has notes of Juniper, Rosemary, and Evergreen and makes my whole apartment smell like Christmas.

The candle I burn most, year-round, on a daily basis is probably Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt Candle which smells almost identical to Le Labo Santal 26 which is one of my all time favorites. I have several on my coffee table and one on each nightstand in my bedroom.

My other favorite is Nest Hearth. It’s smoky and delicious and makes it feel like you’re burning a fire. I used to always buy Diptyque Feu de Bois… Hearth smells exactly the same (maybe even better?) and is literally 3x the size for the same price.

Left to Right from Top: Nest Holiday Candle // Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt Candle // Commodity Book Candle (smells like an old library in the BEST way) // Nest Sicilian Tangerine (the perfect refreshing burst of fruit) // Cire Trudon Positano // Byredo Tree House // Frasier Fir Candle // Byredo Ambre Japonaise (my go-to birthday gift for my close girlfriends) // Frasier Fir Candle // Nest Hearth // Le Labo Santal 26

Nest Holiday has been my go-to holiday scent for years. I use the diffuser and the candle so I get that aroma throughout the house. It’s the best!

Love this post! Nest holiday candle and anything fir tree related have been my go-to candles as well. This year I discovered Illume’s Winter White candle, and I am OBSESSED. In the summer (and I live in Austin, TX so that’s about April-October, lol), I tend toward clean scents that are more green and citrus.

My friend gave me a Thymes Frazier Fir as a hostess gift and I love it! It is now a favorite. If anyone is looking for an economical dupe, the Cedar Balsam from Trader Joe’s is lovely. Not as pretty, but great quality for $3.99. Of course they make three scents and this is the most popular. I went to buy more and all they had was the gingerbread ( the shelf was full of those) which I guess no one liked. Will def check out some of you other picks here

Do you use beauty pie candles still? I know you’ve mentioned liking them in the past but i don’t see them on this list so am just curious!

Yes, I love them! Just kind of forgot about them for this post to be honest! I love the clean house and tuberose but for me those are more summer fragrances! In the winter I do more pine/woodsy!

I love Nest Holiday so much that I sometimes rub a little of the wax on my wrists as perfume.

fun fact- they always burn the Nest holiday candle in the White House for Christmas when they have the tours of the decorations. I don’t think this changes by Administration, as I saw and smelled it when Obama was in office and now :).
