My Fall Beauty Routine

As the seasons change, so does my beauty routine.  Today I thought it would be fun to share my latest product obsessions and beauty routine.  My morning regime has gotten more and more skincare (vs. makeup) heavy.  I find that the better care I take of my skin, the less makeup I need.  The lash extensions also help in that department… I feel like I barely wear makeup these days.

Skincare:  Dr. Jart Face Wash (produces the creamiest lather; hydrates and leaves skin glowing.) // Zelens Resurfacing Pads (A recent discovery – obsessed.  I think of them as luxe stridex pads.) // Caudalie Serum (plumps, hydrates, leaves skin looking younger and gorgeous.) // Creme de la Mer (it’s just as amazing as everyone swears it is… especially if your skin is dry like mine.)

Lips:  I’m loving a bold lip right now.  Two recent faves are NARS Funny Face (a matte fuchsia) and Sunday Riley Persuasive (the perfect red)  Sprout’s Cocoa Lip Balm (a Birchbox discovery) keeps my lips hydrated… and it smells absolutely incredible.

Face + Eyes:  I recently got lash extensions so I comb them compulsively with this brush, and use this serum before bed to condition + strengthen my own lashes.  Other than that, I just use a little bit of this brown eyeliner on my eyes.  To add a little color I use  bronzer (Benefit Hoola) year round, and smooth on a little bit of Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Cream Blush in Nectar to the apples of my cheeks.

Thanks for sharing these – I’m very curious about the lash extensions (sounds so great), but I heard from someone who had them that when they take them off it ruins your real lashes…any truth to it?

I get lash extensions as well (the “extreme lash” brand) and love them! The only thing is lately they have only been lasting two weeks before I need a refill.. what brand do you get and what is your experience with that? I know a lot of ladies are very curious about lash extensions, it could make a great blog post if you decided to review them and tell your experience with them!

Great picks. I’ve never come across Zelens resurfacing pads but I think I’ll have to give them a go!

Makeup never looks as good in the winter, I feel like no matter what my face looks ashy and whatever I use never blends. I feel like I never realized how important skincare was until recently, the less fuss the better!

Such great advice… I really, really need to start taking better care of my skin… seeing it more now that I’m in my 30s. Don’t want my 40s to be a hot mess. Ha! Also must try the Benefit hoola.

I worked for Benefit cosmetics for about a year & Hoolah was their #1 seller. That stuff is awesome but during winter I find it too dark for my skin so I am using TooFaced. La Mer is just amaaaaze balls!!!

I have noticed the same thing, that the better I take care of my skin the less make-up I need! And aren’t eyelash extensions the best invention ever? I just got them for my wedding and I love that I could be on the beach at our honeymoon or run out the door and not look like a total freak of nature because I didn’t have time for make-up! haha

ahh! lash extensions are amazing! i had them around my wedding and wish i’d kept them up… just couldn’t justify the expense! a brush to comb them would have been helpful… will remember that for next time!

Great beauty routine, I’m sure the products are delightful!  Too bad, that’s about 3 times the amount I have to spend.

Great advice. I’m always nervous to try lipstick, but that fuchsia may be my next purchase!
