I am tall… and I am clumsy. And, I run around a lot at my job. So, as much as I love my Loubies & Choos, ballet flats are the most practical of choice – at least during the day. The irony though, is that ballet flats are not always all that comfortable! (As I write this, I’m presently trying to break in an adorable but uncomfortable pair of Delmans.) They pinch your heels, give you blisters around your toes, lack arch support, etc. etc.
And then via Twitter, I discovered style & beauty expert Jenn Falik’s blog…. (love her product recos on her “favorite finds” page. )
She swore by Matt Bernson’s ballet flats…. raving about how comfortable they are, so I decided to give them a try. The flats are super cute. (LOVE the cap toe and stud detailing at the heel,) and come in great color combos.
(As I’m presently swearing off black, I got the nude pair… pictured in the middle.) They are even cuter in person.
From Matt Bernson’s website:
“The important aspect to note is that this is the most comfortable ballet flat sold in the world. We have solved the dreaded “Cobra Bite” which occurs at the heel of most elastic ballet flats by implementing a patent-pending padded moleskin system, that also happens to look really hip. The sole is a branded soft rubber. The insole is vegetable dyed leather with padding from heel to toe. We use soft lining leather so you will slip this on, and just freak out at how amazing it feels.”
My pair came a week or two ago and we’re inseparable. They are so comfortable… and amazingly cute! I’ve temporarily lost interest in the rest of my shoes. (Except for these Delmans that I’m still trying to break in!!) Check out www.mattbernson.com first – they have a limited selection of sizes though. Zappos also carries the brand. I promise – you will not be disappointed, as these flats are truly life-changing! $165 isn’t cheap, but having happy but still stylish feet is, (in my opinion) worth the price tag.
