Happy Monday. You might have seen on instagram that I was out in Essex, Connecticut this for the weekend. One of my closest friends from BaubleBar got married there, so my girlfriends and I took the train out and stayed Friday + Saturday. I fell completely in love with the town. It’s one of the most picturesque, traditional New England towns I’ve ever visited… and the inn that we stayed at (The Griswold) is actually the oldest inn in the country. The ceremony + reception were held at Harkness Park and it may have been one of the prettiest places for a wedding. The gardens felt like Paris.
Today I’m playing dress up, which feels fun as I’ve been pretty casual lately. This Marchesa Notte dress is completely covered in sequins. I love the way that it catches the light but isn’t too flashy. I can’t wait until I have an excuse to wear it out… it’s one of those pieces that just makes you feel fabulous.

PS – Don’t forget about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I’ve done a few posts (general picks, fall fashion, + beauty) with my favorite items and yesterday I finally placed my order. I was boring and kept my order pretty simple… I got these slim cut boyfriend jeans, the Neulash set, two of these tunics and a whole bunch of underwear.

Such a gorgeous dress! You look amazing!
I always struggle with the decision to 1) buy a dress BEFORE I have an occasion to wear it vs. 2) buying a dress specifically FOR an occasion. (#thestruggleisreal) Any advice or words of wisdom on the topic?

Hahha, you’re right, it is a struggle. I tend to buy my dresses before I have an occasion to wear them… but I don’t know that it’s the best strategy. I do this for two reasons… 1) I’m fussy, and if I wait to the last minute I can never find what I’m looking for, and 2) If I’m under pressure, I’ll buy something that isn’t perfect… and then I end up wasting money.
This dress is so unique (in a good way, obviously!).
BEAUTIFUL! 🙂

wow. I can’t believe this dress is completely covered in sequins yet seems wearable for so many occasions! great outfit!
You look gorgeous! I love the simple hair and make-up with such an intricate dress. Marchesa does no wrong! I feel like that dress is one of those things you will pull out for special occasions over and over again and/or pass down to daughters/nieces/etc. It is truly a stunning, special dress.
P.S. I blame you for my new Manolo BB addiction. Just added my first pair to my shoe collection and I have no regrets. 😉
Oh no // oh YAY! Manolo BB’s are my favorite… the comfiest heels. I blame Helena from Brooklyn Blonde for my addiction, haha… so we can all blame someone, right? 😉
What a gorgeous dress!

This dress is so versatile with the many colors. You could really bring out a whole slew of colors through accessories for several different looks. Love the lady-like cut and skirt just asking to be twirled. Bravo!
Holy sequined stunner! Those colors make it a perfect dress for fancy fall weddings. You look great in it!

So so gorgeous Grace! It’s hard to believe this dress is PURE sequins. It’s fabulously unique and looks great on you!
Pretty! The Dre jeans are great fit. I m 5′ and boyfriend jeans look frumpy on me. These look the best on my body type. Not crazy about the detailing though
You are absolutely darling in this dress! I love the color and shape. Very fun!
