Love Potion

A few weeks ago I attended a breakfast to celebrate the launch of Tata Harper‘s latest creation… a love potion! I’d tried a few of her products here and there and been a long time admirer of her brand {you can learn more about the brand’s mission + their farm here – it’s really cool.} but have to say… at first I was a little bit skeptical about the idea of a “love potion.” It felt a bit juvenile to me as I have memories of being in ninth grade and buying this pheromone perfume at Victoria’s Secret with my girlfriends in attempt to attract our crushes. It smelled terrible… like disappointment.

But as I listened to Tata speak about the product, I got lured in. First of all, this potion is not a perfume. It’s designed more as an aromatherapy treatment {disguised in a really pretty bottle, with an atomizer pouf.} And it’s not so much made to attract a mate but rather to help women feel beautiful and more confident… which I love!

The potion contains ten of the world’s most potent essential oils; to support feelings of confidence {ylang ylang and grapefruit}, positivity {davana, jasmine, violet leaf, cedarwood atlas}, and arousal {orange peel, sandalwood, rose, frankincense}. Tata’s goal was to “inspire an inner sense of beauty and confidence” when developing the potion. After all, we’re all at our prettiest and most attractive when we feel that way, right? So that I could get behind. Upon actually applying it. I honestly did feel more confident and attractive upon putting it on. The aromatherapy oils really do lift your mood and make you feel good.

As for how it actually smells, I have a hard time describing it. The fragrance is sensual, warm + woody. To me, the notes of sandalwood and ylang ylang were most apparent.

A little goes a long way since the product is made of pure essential oils. It comes in two sizes… 10ml (with the atomizer) or a more portable 5ml roll-on.
