One Shade of Grey.

Rare is the day that I will put something on only to realize that it’s so much more affordable than I thought it was. Usually it’s the other way around… much to my disappointment.

Recently, a box full of clothing arrived in the mail*. I immediately gravitated toward this dress. I wore it out to dinner with my girlfriends that night. I shot it for the blog. I had never heard of the brand (Cotton:on) but just assumed that it was one of those Splendid-esque of California brands… lots of jersey, etc. I had no idea that it was $30. Or that by the time I got around to posting it on the blog, it would be on sale for $10! So here I am, rocking my $10 dress in all her glory. What a fun surprise!

Outfit Details: Burberry Kensington Trench (also here, + love this more affordable option) / Cotton:on Dress (also in black) c/o // Express Tights (my absolute favorite) // Stuart Weitzman Over the Knee Boots (more affordable version here) // Chanel Bag // Charm & Chain Mined Necklace

*As a blogger I am often sent boxes of clothing and beauty products. This can be both awesome and infuriating. Getting surprises in the mail is really cool and fun, but there are usually expectations on the brand’s behalf. I don’t wear very many c/o items these days as I’d rather pick + choose my outfits. But when I do, I will always disclose that it was gifted, using “c/o” or “gifted.”

The dress seems pretty versatile. Can’t argue with topping it off with a Burberry trench. Trenches are my fav and Burberry is a dream.

Those boots! Love them. I’m obsessed with OTK boots this season. Girl to girl, do yours stay up?

Yes, these do! The adjustable tie at the back makes it easy to have them stay up. The suede is thicker than with other boots too, so they have a good shape. I’ve had other pairs that didn’t stay up as well though!!!
