During my trip to Lake Placid, the boyfriend and I had a chance to visit with his father in Keene Valley. His father runs a pottery shop, and we were in for a treat – he was firing the kiln that day. (As the kiln can hold over 300 pieces at a time, he only fires it every few months.) The process takes 16 hours and temps reach 2400 degrees. Needless to say, I was utterly mesmerized.
(I’m thinking that pottery needs to be my next hobby…)
