June 2016 Reading List.

I am and always will be a bit of a bookworm. But lately, I’ve gotten a bit off track. I blame TV. Specifically… The Blacklist, Quantico, Scandal, Southern Charm… and most recently, The Night Manager. Oof. I’m a total TV addict. The last book that I read and really enjoyed was Sunday’s on the Phone to Mondays. But I just started reading The Island House and am loving that so far (it’s set on Nantucket in the summer so it’s hard to put down)!

I’m also always cooking. Gwyneth’s new book It’s All Easy is a real gem. The spinach pesto takes five minutes to make and is incredible over zucchini noodles. I haven’t picked up the Love and Lemons cookbook yet but it looks equally delish.

And who can resist a great coffee table book! Last night I attended a party to celebrate my pal Gray Malin’s new book, Beaches… and it’s beautiful. I also scooped up Emily Henderson’s new interiors book as I adore her aesthetic. Last but not least, I’ve heard amazing things about The Career Code. I don’t usually read career books unless they pertain to a specific (read: nerdy) topic, but several established friends have told me that they learned a lot from it, so I ordered that as well this week.

And guys… maybe the most important thing: my sister’s book is now available for pre-order! I ordered my copy last night and you should do the same. So incredibly exciting!

What are you reading right now? I always LOVE your recommendations!

Ah, amazing! I’ve been bookmarking all reading lists lately – trying to get into a better habit. I just finished Sweetbitter and absolutely loved it. It’s beautifully written and an interesting look behind-the-scenes in the restaurant scene. It’s a bit darker than I usually read, but I found myself thinking about it when not reading and wanting to start over when I finished. Also, Emily Giffin’s First Comes Love is amazing! I couldn’t put it down. Much lighter beach read. I’m going to grab Sunday’s on the Phone to Mondays – I had forgotten about that one! Thanks for sharing 🙂

I love Quantico, Scandal and am just starting to watch Gilmore Girls! Similar to you, I try to keep my reading strong and have been reading each night for 30 mins before bed. I just finished The Nightingale and LOVED it!

I have thrown myself into Wild since I saw Cheryl Strayed speak at an event the other week. I have also been devouring Better than Before by Gretchen Rubin – trying to figure out how to make habits stick. There’s a little journal you can get on the side that complements it well.

I’m reading Jen Sincero’s You Are A Badass right now and it’s SO good. I’ve picked up so many great takeaways that apply to my personal and professional life.

I’m currently reading The Career Code and love it. Gwyneth’s book looks good too. And I like the Malin books as coffee tables. But since they’re not a huge priority to me I don’t buy them. Would make a great gift for me though.

Your sister’s book looks gorgeous, I can’t wait to see it! I recently read a few books I really enjoyed: The Light Between Oceans was AMAZING (and can’t wait for the movie), Eligible was good, This Was Not the Plan was a really good summer read, and I also liked The Admissions. I’m currently listening to He Will Be My Ruin, not too sure about it yet. Also really want to check out Gray Malin’s book, it looks beautiful!
