J.Crew Field Trench Coat; 2 Ways.

Happy Monday!

When I saw J.Crew’s Field Trench I was immediately intrigued. If we’re being honest, I couldn’t tell if I loved it or hated it. Was it too preppy? Or really chic? Honestly I still don’t know but I have decided that I really really love it as it’s kind of the perfect mix between my preppier Cape Cod roots and my current more city-friendly style. It makes me happy. I had been hoping to style it with a dress but it was way too cold outside so I’ll get to that when things warm up a bit. The cotton fabric is just like your classic field trench – it’s a great Spring jacket but definitely not warm enough for the weather we’ve been having. What I love most is that it also comes in tall sizes – I’ve mentioned this before but while J.Crew’s pants fit me great, I have a long torso and their tops and jackets are always too short/boxy on me. So the tall here is perfect (I’m wearing a small/tall)… I’m really happy I bought it!

Hope you guys had a great weekend. I basically worked the whole weekend but it was mostly fun stuff. Becca and I spent most of Saturday working on our podcast and yesterday I had two different shoots! I still managed two yoga classes and a movie (I watched The Greatest Showman on Saturday night, which I’d been pretty excited about as I have a huge crush on Hugh Jackman + love the circus…  I ended up feeling meh on it though. More of an airplane movie than a spend your money on it in iTunes).

Outfit #1: J.Crew Field Trench (also in tall) // J.Crew Bodysuit // American Eagle Jeans // Gucci Purse // Gentle Monster Sunglasses // J.Crew Belt (really old but this is similar) // Manolo Blahnik Pumps // Gold Earrings (bought in Cartagena; for something equally cool/dramatic I do love this BaubleBar pair.)

Outfit #2: J.Crew Field Trench // J.Crew Factory Top (c/o) // J.Crew Factory Jeans (c/0) // J.Crew Factory Wedges (c/o) // // Chanel Purse // Gorjana Earrings (my faaavorite) // Celine Sunglasses

These espadrille wedges are so great. J.Crew Factory makes the best comfy but still cute shoes (you know I rave and rave and rave about these wedge pumps which I have in 3 colors!) It’s still a bit cold to wear them but I took the plunge so that I could show you them before they sell out.

Just FYI these sunglasses keep selling out but I love them so much. I had never heard of this brand but I really really love it!

I mentioned this on Instagram but buying jewelry when I travel is my favorite! I bought these earrings in Cartagena at an amazing store called Casa Chiqui. They were on the more expensive side but I don’t have anything like them and every time I wear them I will think of my trip. I also really love the Gorjana earrings I’m wearing in the other outfit. They’re the best!

I love this look! I wasn’t the biggest fan of The Greatest Showman either, but I absolutely LOVED the soundtrack 🙂 Pasek & Paul are AMAZING!

This trench is awesome — I wish Florida had more weather variety because I can’t imagine when I’d wear a trench, sadly. I do love your fun mix of earrings and how it adds such a cool/chic vibe to what could be a bit preppier.

Ugh I used to have that JCrew belt years ago (like, possibly ten years???) and somehow lost it…it was so great. Single tear…
