Last week, Garnet Hill invited Christine, Krystal, and I up to their house in Hudson Valley for a little mid-week escape. I’d never been to Hudson, but had been dying to go as it has always sounded like the perfect little city escape.
I was right. The town of Hudson is fantastic (so many cute shops, restaurants, etc) and our house in Chatham was picture perfect. And it was so easy to get to from the city… just a two hour train ride on Amtrak via Penn Station. We explored the town, went wine tasting, had an incredible farm to table dinner, and even made s’mores by the fire (in our cozy Garnet Hill PJs, natch!)
(Wearing my grandmother’s vintage necklace. Also… my boots + jeans are 25% off right now with code INTHEFAM25!)
Wine tasting at Hudson-Chatham Vineyard was a definite highlight for me. We tasted local wines + cheeses, and even got to sample the actual grapes in the vineyard (they were the most delicious grapes I’ve ever tasted). I had no idea that such delicious wines were made so close to home!
When we got back to the house, we had a delicious homemade (farm to table) catered. Beet salad, roast chicken, heirloom tomatos… I was in heaven! (All paired with more local wines.)
The next day, before we headed back to the city we got to do a little exploring in the city. We ate a delicious lunch at Cafe Le Perche, and then did a bit of shopping.
My two favorite stores (did a bit of damage, oops!) were 2 Note Perfumery and Lilli and Loo (conveniently located next to each other). 2 Note is an incredible local (all natural) perfumery. I ended up buying this honey face scrub and some Opus 1 products which smell so good – french lavender, sandalwood, and black pepper. Lilli and Loo has so many interesting, unique gifts. I bought these really cool oil candles for myself and my mom… and a set of faceted tumblers.
A big thanks to Garnet Hill for having us!

Ah, these are such beautiful photos! I love this time of year.
Looks lovely! I need to go up to Hudson sometime and explore it looks like! I mean, farm to table dinner and wine. Perfection.

HI:
How does the sweater compare to the Everlane cashmere? Does it run true to size? Thanks so much
Hi Marianne, I actually like it a lot better than Everlane. Don’t get me wrong – I love Everlane’s cashmere – it’s great. I hate saying this as I’m a huuuuuge Everlane fan. But this is a little softer, and much thicker. The cut is true to size… I’m wearing a medium here and like that it’s a little bit slouchy. It’s also longer than the Everlane one, which I love as I have a really long torso and tops always are short on me!
Looks like you had a wonderful weekend! I love those boots!
