How To: The Glitter Fade Manicure

DIY-Glitter-Fade

Today I’m going to show you one of my favorite manicure tricks… the glitter fade.  Everyone thought I got an expensive gel manicure when I did this but nope… it is just nail polish!  I’ve also teamed up with U by Kotex .. you’ll get a FREE bottle of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure when you buy U by Kotex at Target.  (Only at Target) These polishes are the absolute best… I actually helped launch them a few years ago when I worked for Coty!  Just text ‘KOTEX’ to ‘TARGET’ to get your coupon!

{Start by brushing on three coats of a neutral polish.  I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in “Arm Candy.”  It’s a great nude.  On a sidenote, I’m obsessed with the brush of this polish… it is really great because its nice and wide and lets you get your whole nail in three swipes.}

{Allow to dry completely.}

{Next, you’ll want to brush on a coat of glitter at just the tip of the nail.}

{Repeat on each nail.}

{Then, add another coat of glitter… this time going over the tip to give it a denser amount of glitter, and then gently brushing just a little bit more glitter over the bottom of your nail.}

Nails

Repeat one more time, creeping the polish up to the top 3/4 of the nail.

Seal with top coat and you are ready to go!

    I normally love the stuff you post, but I just don’t get this. It looks like a 5 year old painted your nails. Maybe a lighter / less severe color would look more natural?

      aw, I’m sorry you didn’t like it! I think it would also look really pretty {and a little more subtle} with gold or silver glitter.
