If you follow along on social media, then you know that last week I headed out to Montauk to stay at Gurney’s for two nights with two of my really good friends, Jess + Julia. The only time I’d ever been to Gurney’s before had been in the summer… drinking… on the beach. This was an entirely different experience, in the best way possible. I mean, drinking on a beach is always fun… but this was a totally different experience – a mini wellness retreat, of sorts! We ate some incredible meals, went for long walks + runs on the beach, took a few workout classes, got massages at their spa… and were able to just unplug and relax a little bit! Truly, such a treat.
Today I am sharing a little photo diary of what we did. If you live in New York, I can’t recommend a Fall weekend escape at Gurney’s enough. They have workout classes every morning, three great restaurants (Corso Coffee for great coffee and a grab & go breakfast; Tillie’s for a casual lunch, and Scarpetta for fancier dinner + drinks). And I can’t say enough good things about the spa – I had one of the best massages ever (book Johnny if you get a massage)! Montauk shuts down a bit in the colder months but Gurney’s has everything you need.
Be sure to pop over to Julia + Jess‘s blogs to see their photos from the trip. And a big thank you to Gurney’s for an amazing couple of days!
There’s something so nice about being with girlfriends who just “get” you. Jess, Julia, and I all share similar world views, work ethics, political opinions (and right now politics are really all we are able to think/talk about). As a freelancer/full time blogger, it’s so important to have women in my life who understand what I do for a living… I’d go crazy otherwise! I’m so grateful for them!
Salad + french fries. The perfect balance… right? 😉
On our first day, these treats were waiting for us in our room after our Exhale workout class. I mean, they kinda counteracted the benefits of the workout but they were too pretty not to eat. And the personalized tray was such a fun touch!
This is Scarpetta, the main restaurant. It’s such a beautiful space.

I would love to visit Montauk some time! And that food is amazing. I’ve been known to order a salad and fries from time to time…so I’m totally on board with the “balance” thing.

It is! I can’t recommend it enough this time of year. Stretches of empty beach, the resort to ourself, and barely any traffic getting out there – perfection!!! xx

This is a really nice Travel post. This contains everything I am looking for when searching for travel inspirations. I like the fact that you shared the links to the different places you went to and that you put your own pictures. I’ve been willing to go to the Hamptons for a while and this post has certainly convinced me 🙂
Thanks Victoria!
