Grace’s 8: August 2017.

This month is just flying by – already!!! Today we are back with eight things I loved this month… as always, click the graphic to learn more and shop… or, read on below to learn what I loved about each product. As always the list is a little random; spanning beauty, fashion, and home decor… but every single thing is amazing – enjoy! x

ONE // Weleda Skin Food. I’ve been using this stuff for ages (on dry spots), but recently Into the Gloss likened it to an all-natural, $12 La Mer Dupe, which led me to try putting it on my face and you know what?! They are totally right. It is so, so similar. Both are ultra rich, luxurious, and fix a number of skin sins – dehydration, redness, dullness, etc. So great – and only $12.

TWO // Charlotte Tilbury Dry Sheet Mask. When I was in London, my friend Ruby raved and raved about this mask and I was so confused/intrigued by the idea of a dry sheet mask. It’s pretty interesting. You apply it to your face, hooking the loops around your ears, and pat it on. It’s infused with active ingredients and while the mask does feel dry to the touch, your skin is infused with them and feels amazingly soft afterward. Each mask can be used three times. I’d recommend using before a big event or party… my skin immediately looked plumped up, glowy, and younger… it’s definitely one of the cooler products I’ve tried in a long time.

THREE // Dr Roebuck’s POLISH 2-in-1 Facial Scrub and Mask. My skin gets a little rough toward the end of the summer. Blame it on dehydration, naturally dry skin, travel, too much time in the ocean, and so on and so forth… but by August, without a doubt, I have to up the exfoliation factor. This is a good one. I massage it in all over my skin, let it sit for 5-10 minutes (it has this really nice minty clean smell), and then put a little bit of warm water into the palm of my hand and massage again, this time, like a scrub. When I’m done, my skin is so so soft. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks (3-4x a week) and am hooked! I love that it’s all natural. While I’m not fully clean with my beauty routine I try to choose natural options whenever I can.

FOUR // Elina Linardaki Rainbow Slides. It’s truly tragic that summer is almost over and I am only just now learning about Elina Linardaki’s rainbow magic. She makes a slew of other styles but these are the best. I’m about 99% sure I had a very similar pair when I was young, which is probably why I love them so much. And they’re on sale, too!

FIVE // APTO Healing Turmeric Mask. Okay so this mask is actually meant for oily skin and I have dry skin, but that didn’t stop me from ordering it right off of Instagram. Turmeric is so, so good for your body so I was really intrigued by a turmeric face mask. It’s a lot like a clay mask in that it detoxifies and clears your pores… but it’s also super gentle. If you have acne and/or oily skin, I’d definitely try it, but I think it’s great on all skin types whenever your skin is feeling a little congested and in need of a detox.

SIX // Topshop Wrap Dress. This dress is everything, for only $95. At first blush it’s just your standard floral dress… what makes it special (and expensive looking) are the graphic stars. For under $100 you can’t go wrong!

SEVEN // Ekko Standing Circles Mobile. I was recently flipping through the DWR catalog and flipped out when I saw this mobile. I’d been looking for something just like it, (you may or may not know that I am a huuuuge Alexander Calder fan – I have one of his lithographs in my apartment and it’s one of my most treasured pieces of art). The artist is Matthew Richards, who (inspired by Calder), began making mobiles in 2009. Since then, his mobiles have been commissioned for all sorts of things (including Ocean’s Thirteen). They are handmade in Oregon just so cool.

EIGHT // J.Crew’s Tops & Earring Pairings. If there are two things I am buying right now, it’s cute tops and big bold earrings. This little editorial from J.Crew is so good… I literally want everything in the feature… especially this top and these earrings. Though these are pretty fab too!

I love the look of the turmeric mask! Been wanting to get a new mask for ages already, and I’ve been looking into the benefits of turmeric too. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

I’m surprised to hear Weleda compared to La Mer! That’s not to say I dislike Skin Food per se, but I’ve always found it to be really heavy and sticky (almost like A&D ointment, haha). Am I missing something?!

Oh my gosh…I was thinking the same thing. It would never occur to me to put Weleda on my face. Hands and elbows only! LOL

oh my gosh no you have to try it!!! I mean, I have VERY dry skin but the consistency is wonderful on your face… a lot like La Mer in its thickness and how you have to massage it a bit into your skin. If you have oily skin maybe skip but I am obsessed. Feels so good on my skin and doesn’t make me break out at all.

I agree! I used it for years and found it especially handy when living in NY during the winters. Yes, it takes a while to soak in, but it leaves your skin feeling SO nourished.

I just ordered the Apto mask and discovered that they will give you a $10 off coupon for your first purchase, which makes the mask all of $6. What a deal!
