I have always had a pretty bad case of wanderlust over here, but due to the unfortunate fact that I have very little vacation time and do not happen to be independently wealthy I have to live vicariously through my favorite travel blogs. I thought it would be fun to start a little series over here highlighting the places I want to go… and (of course!) what I would wear.
First up is Ibiza (in the Balearic Islands off the coast of Spain.) I honestly hadn’t really had much of a desire to visit Ibiza (the partying all night doesn’t really appeal to me and I’m not into nightclubs much these days) but there’s so much more to the island (especially in the Northwester parts -you can do it in a more low key way.) Also this house. Can I move in? Days spent in the sun, evenings spent dining on jamón ibérico and pan con tomate… (and drinking my weight in Spanish wines?) sign me up.
What to Pack…
one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve
I’d fill my bag with easy pieces to mix + match. White tunics are a must (and this + this are on sale at J.Crew right now!) A big scarf to tie my hair back with (or one of Lulu Frost’s head wraps – so fun.) A pretty maxi dress works at the beach or out at night (and this one is under $100!) Other must haves: my fave coral lipstick, a big hat, dark shades, and easy gold sandals!
Sigh…Can i go in your suitcase? 😉
My best friend just got back from a year of teaching in Spain…her photos are amazing and it was not good for my wanderlust or minimal vacation policy. Sometimes I wish I was as gutsy as her in quitting her job and traveling around Europe!
This maxi skirt looks great 🙂

SASHA
I cannot say enough good things about Spain! GO, GO, GO! My best friend and I travelled throughout Spain for a month post-college graduation and before starting “real life.” The country was so beautiful and I’m so fortunate to have had the opportunity to really immerse myself. While we loved Ibiza (and still joke about partying with the drug lord of the island- seriously, he had a feather crown and women bowing down/serving him all night- kind of crazy), our favorite city was the Basque town of San Sebastian. Such a stunning and unique place. One husband and 2 kids later, I’m still dying to go back.

I love this new series- I happened to write about wanderlust on my blog today too! I’ve been to Spain a couple of times and I absolutely love that country. I would totally live there! I never made it to Ibiza though, but I would love to visit one day and do it the low-key way that you mentioned.
love that white dress! xo jillian – cornflake dreams
I’ve not been to Ibiza but the nearby island of Mallorca – bikinis, skirts and shorts were a must! Ibiza does seem to get quite a bad reputation but there are really nice areas for those looking for a relaxing escape!
I just came back from Ibiza two weeks ago and I cannot say how beautiful it was. It was STUNNING. I have never had such bad holiday blues! If you can go one day, do it. And yes, you don’t have to party at all if you don’t want to, the party areas are quite compact.
I did a little Ibiza blog post here last week: http://arowantree.blogspot.co.uk/2014/07/ibiza.html
Gorgeous – I’m so into that dress and bag! I wish I could go everywhere all at once – the world is so gorgeous. Great idea for a series, I can’t wait to see!!

While I love Spain, Ibiza is not very nice. It shows what great photography can do! It’s basically a dirty party island, even in the “pretty parts”. And you won’t be eating much jamon or drinking Spanish wines there unfortunately. Agree with the San Sebastian reco!
Lovely selection of things to pack!
cheers!

Out of curiosity, what are your favorite travel blogs??
Thanks for using my photograph from the Sa Trinxa Beach Club in Ibiza – it’s one of the most atmospheric places on the island! I love your blog post 🙂 xx D.W.
