Glow Recipe Watermelon Sleeping Mask.

glow recipe watermelon sleeping mask review | the stripe

This post was originally published almost two years ago (!!!) but I updated it a bit because I am still loving this product so so much – it’s a favorite that I always forget about but every time I go back to it I’m so happy I did. This luxuriously bouncy breathable sleeping mask is one of my all time favorite go-to products for hydrated, more radiant skin and it will be one of yours too! It smooths and perfects skin while you sleep and what is better than that!? Seriously, I don’t know why I don’t do sleeping masks every single night – they are the most amazing little multi-taskers.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask

I am obsessed with this sleeping mask, and I promise, it’s not just because it smells *exactly* like a watermelon Jolly Rancher. But it does, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy the scent. It’s truly uncanny.

I love sleeping masks because I am lazy and like the idea of letting a mask do its work while I’m asleep. I mean, why not put that time to even better use? After cleansing, I apply SK-II Treatment Essence and then brush on a thin layer of this mask with a brush (I know you are going to ask – I use this one… I bought a few on Amazon and l-o-v-e applying my masks this way… keeps hands from getting messy and just makes for a more luxurious masking experience! I’ll usually apply it 20 minutes before I plan to fall asleep (ideally before I get in bed to read) so that it has a little time to dry.

It’s packed with hyaluronic acid (to plump + hydrate) and AHAs (to exfoliate). The result is bright, glowy, super soft skin the next day. (And of course, literal sweet dreams – you’ll dream of Jolly Ranchers.)

The formula is a bouncy gel, and the best part is that it’s pillow-proof so it won’t get all over your pillow and/or stain your linens. (I can attest that this is true… I used it every other night for the past week and a half and it did zero damage to my beloved silk Slip pillowcase… yes, I sleep with a silk pillowcase every. single. night. because, wrinkles, but that can be another blog post for another day!)

mask review

When to Use It.

This mask is great for ALL skin types (yes even oilier types), and is really amazing to use whenever your skin is feeling dull and uneven. It instantly boosts radiance and you don’t have to do any work!

Why it Works.

This product is packed with AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) that work to gently exfoliate while you sleep (these help with the dullness and roughness).

It’s oil free and really lightweight (making it great for all skin types, including oilier types) and it also contains hyaluronic acid which hydrates and plumps skin, ensuring you wake up looking glowy and awake.

The AHA/hyaluronic acid combo is a real winner as the AHAs smooth your skin and exfoliate dead skin cells and rough surface cells while hyaluronic acid moisturizes. So you wake up with skin that’s exfoliated AND nourished/hydrated.

How to Use The Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask.

How to Use The Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask.

Step One

Wash your face. Of course. Always, always wash your face before bed. But you already know this!!! You can also gently exfoliate beforehand too, if you have time.

Step Two

Apply toner or essence (if you use those things) and then pat your face dry.

Step Three

Apply a thin layer of the mask to your face. As I mentioned above, I love using a brush but you can totally just use your fingers!

Step Four

Allow to dry. I read in bed for a while, so that helps… but I would say you should definitely allow at least 15 minutes!

Step Five

Fall asleep and let it work while you sleep. 😉

Step Six

When you wake up, be sure to wash thoroughly in the morning.

So far my favorite mask is the Tata Harper revitalizing mask you recommended. I really see the difference in my skin. When you have ” mature ” skin like me results aren’t as dramatic. This one really stands out. I also tried the Pixi, overnight moisture mask, pretty good for the price. My skin needs serious moisture these days. Very excited to try this one and I have to get a brush now. Love that idea! No messy hands. 🙂

I LOVE this mask! I’ve use it the past 3 nights and my skin looks and feels so soft and my pores look smaller, which for me never happens as I have large pores and oily skin. Amazing product and yes, my hubby wants to eat my face off!

I LITERALLY used this mask for the first time last night, and I can definitely attest to everything you said!! I had received a sample with my most recent Sephora order, and I will definitely be ordering a full jar! It smells just like watermelon, and it left my normally dry skin feeling nice and soft. 🙂

YESSSSSSSSS. I use my GLOW Watermelon mask at least twice a week.
I switch between that and the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask and the Lavender Sleeping Mask.

So funny to see this on your blog as I just used mine last night! You can massage it into your skin like a serum if you don’t feel like taking the time to let it air dry — just stop massaging as soon as it’s dry or it may start peeling.

I need about 10 more things with that scent, it’s SO GOOD.
