I am having a real moment with sneakers. I am going to blame it on the subtle platform we are seeing a lot of brands doing. I know that I personally struggled with sneakers for a long time. They made me feel just a little bit dowdy and squat, and I always felt like my styling was just a little bit off. So I didn’t make much of an effort and if I was doing a casual outfit, I would favor a low heel like these instead. My Vince slip ons were my go-to and my gateway into the world of sneakers, but only as long as I had on something cute and feminine.
These days, it’s almost always sneakers and denim. I am in sneakers most days… what a change! (And socks, of course… love these!) All kinds of sneakers… flat ones, platforms, laces, slip-ons… but always: FUN sneakers. Today I wanted to put together a round-up of my favorites.

Also, I have been asked to give a review of my Tod’s sneakers. My review is that they are perfect. I would never spend that much money on a pair of sneakers if anything about them was less than absolutely perfect. The platform, the bounce, the color combination, the quality… and yes of course — they are super comfortable!!!! I do not wear anything uncomfortable these days. I wish they weren’t so expensive but they are amazing. Also: I might like this new color combination even more.

OMG, you seriously have me considering $600 sneakers!! You talk about socks, and thanks for the link. But in your photos you are not wearing them. I find them a little nerdy looking, but love the feel. Why do you choose not to wear them in pics?
I like to mix it up. One photo was cold in New York, another was warm in Charleston. I love how they look and feel!

Advice on how to style these with socks?! I usually wear mine without socks as they feel frumpy with socks, but I know the sock thing is on trend…thanks!
My advice is to just go for it!!! It is weird at first but once you do it on the regular, you get used to it! If it feels scary, try wearing socks the same color as either your pants or your shoes.
Finally pulled the trigger on the Hokas. Been looking at them for awhile but held back because of how “substantial” they are. But if a cool girl like you wears them they must be ok. Also, since Covid I am all about comfort; no more torture fashion for this girl!
