This week, life is moving at a slower pace than usual and I’m really, really enjoying it. (Things will pick back up again next week!) I had a really mellow weekend, am almost through a new book (The Nightingale – cannot put it down – thanks to all who recommended it!!) and only have plans two nights this week. Downtime has been a really nice treat… the entire month of September was a little crazy! Sometimes I forget how much I need my alone time…!
I’m wearing a few of my favorite classics pieces. These pants (last seen here, + also featured in my twelve trends post) have proven to become such a great workhorse. I really like them with a loose camisole (like the one I’m wearing) at night… with a white tee + a silk scarf for daytime, or with a silk button down, tucked halfway in. I love that they are classic, but still on trend. My leather jacket comes from Vince. In my opinion, Vince has the best leather jackets around. I have two… this one, and a cropped black leather one. I got this one five years ago and still reach for it constantly – it just gets better and better with age! Of course this one is sold out but Nordstrom and Shopbop both have some great options. (I really love this one!)
For those of you in NYC… a special treat! My sunglasses came from Optyx, a born & bred NYC luxury eyewear retailer… stocking luxury brands like Chanel, Tom Ford, Celine, and Thierry Lasry. They have 9 locations and are offering 20% off select in store purchases, with code THESTRIPE. It’s valid for the next month (until 11/4/16!)
PS – These sandals (also seen here + here) may be the best $30 you’ll ever spend! They’re so comfortable and the quality is actually really good. I’ve had the more expensive versions, and they’re nowhere near as comfortable. And so I keep on wearing this pair… go figure!

Look for Less: Jacket // Camisole // Pants // Heels (no need – they’re $30!) // Bag (or this $22 crossbody!)

Love the leather jacket. I’ve been on the hunt for a cognac jacket and these are the perfect ones!
Thanks Elizabeth!!! A good one is hard to find but I really liked the ones I linked to! x
Love the pop of red, and those pants are so chic!

Love these pants on you! And I agree about Vince….actually everything they produce is on point 😉
Pink Champagne Problems
Thank you Dana! Totally… I think that half of the things I bought for Fall were Vince, now that I think about it! xx
gotta love the classics! love your leather jacket.
Thank you Brittany! xx
Grace — how tall are you? I love the cropped pants but I am 5’10” and worried they might be a little short…
Hi MFC! I am just about 5’8. I would recommend sizing up so that they sit a little lower on you! Mine come up a bit high but are still long enough. If they still don’t work, maybe try just tailoring a pair of regular wide leg pants? Good luck! xx
I want that bag!!
Thanks Erin – it’s definitely a favorite of mine!!!
I need to check out those pants – I’m ALWAYS on the hunt for classic and flattering pants!
So happy you like them – they are a favorite of mine!!
I’ve just started reading the Nightingale and I love it too!! You’re book recommendation are
