Fall Home Updates.

I’ve been taking so much joy in decorating my cozy little apartment and I have to say, I finally feel like I am (almost?) done! It was really gratifying when two of my college girlfriends visited me for my birthday and complimented the space. I love decorating but have never been so sure that I’m actually good at it? Home decor is such a personal thing. The “upstairs” loft needs a little bit more work, but overall I am in a place where I’m really just loving my space. Lulu & Georgia (my fave for chic home decor that’s a little bit different + interesting) offered to help me make a few changes to spruce things up for Fall + the coming holidays and it feels so much more cozy + inviting.

The first thing I did to really amp up the coziness of the space was layer a hide rug over my regular rug. You might remember that I swapped out my beloved blue trellis rug (I loved it so much) for a more neutral (aka Tyrion-friendly) version. I was sad to part ways with it, but who has time for vacuuming every other day? Not me. I love the cozy vibe that the hide rug gives the space. Tyrion loves it too – you can usually find him sprawled out across both rugs, as if to say… “I’m the king of the apartment!”

The other thing I’ve been loving is trays! When you live in a loft, trays are critical. I love hibernating up there with a mug of tea, maybe some candles, and a good movie… trays make it a little more safe. No spills on the bed. Right now, this gold one sits nested atop my glossy orange tray, but they make their way up and down the ladder quite frequently.

Of course, my Gray Malin “Mama Mia” print is proudly on display atop my dresser. I must get back to Greece at some point… someday!

I’m obsessed with these Mahari pillar candle holders. I need to find some good pillar candles that fit – in the meantime I’ve been using them to display some jar candles I already had.

And I finally have chairs! Good ones. My old desk chair was hard – so not comfortable for some of the long nights I spend in front of my computer. These chairs are amazing and make for extra seating when I have friends over for holiday gatherings. I love all of the Celine Chairs on Lulu & Georgia (the striped version is so great, too!) but ultimately went with the Oak finish as it felt like it was the most neutral.

I’ve developed a severe obsession with mercury glass. I just love it. It’s so pretty, and adds a nice pop of sparkle. Perfect for the holidays. I have this triple wick candle and this pillar candle, both by Illume. The fragrance is called Gilded Amberleaf. It’s warm + cedary and extremely inviting!
