Fait la Force.

Today I’m really excited to share something incredibly special with you – my close friend Emma Allen’s latest endeavor, Fait la Force. You might remember Emma from Khepri (the most beautiful bags, created from 100% recycled wares.) Over the past year she’s spent quite a bit of time in Haiti working on this new line. I knew it would be amazing, but when she shared the product shots + lookbook with me last week, I was blown away.

As background, Fait la Force works hand in hand with artisans all over Haiti. All of their products are handmade in their workshop in Port-au-Prince or in the workshops of their artisan partners. The name, Fait la Force comes from a phrase on the Haitian flag… “L’Union Fait La Force,” which means “Strength in Unity.” To Emma and her business partner Chandler (Emma is based in New York, Chandler in Haiti) this represents the strength found in partnerships (between them and their artisans, but also between creator + consumer.)

My favorite piece from the collection (if I must pick one favorite) is the bucket bag, but each piece feels so special… items you can wear every day and mix + match. I sort of want one of everything. The everyday tote is amazing (and under $100),I’d love to add the linen quilt + this basket to my apartment, and the bone and diamond earrings are so cool.

That leather bag is beautiful- similar to the Mansur Gavriel, but a bit more practical and supporting a much better cause. This might get added to my Christmas list in a few months!

I love supporting artist that works in Haiti since I’m Haitian myself. I didn’t know about this line thanks for sharing, as soon as I saw the post name I knew Haiti was somehow involved 🙂
