August in New York is just… the sweatiest and the grossest! I’ve given up on wearing my hair down as I’ll inevitably sweat like crazy the second I step outside. My hair will stick to my neck and then when it dries that part turns curly… not a good look and a waste of all the time I spend styling my hair. Ponytails it is! So… I tend to live in little dresses like this one from Rebecca Taylor (it’s on sale!) and fun earrings like these to add a little interest to my boring and sad ponytail. I shouldn’t complain about the weather though – before we know it, winter will be here and we will all be hibernating/whining about how cold it is!!! (It’s crazy to me that we are more than halfway through August… how!?)
I got home from Cape Cod late yesterday night. It was SO nice being home with my family. Seriously just the best, best, best. My dad cooked so much amazing fresh fish for us. We had my favorite lobster roll, my favorite ice cream, and so much more. (You can see all of my Cape Cod picks in my Cape Cod Travel Guide, for the record!). It was the best! But I am happy to be back in New York until I go to Morocco at the end of the month.
It’s just nice to be home and get to the gym and yoga and be able to fully focus on work. (Although I somehow managed to lose my passport while I was home this week so have to figure that out today.. ugggh!). Mercury is out of retrograde so I have no one but myself to blame for that one.

Haha, if you think August in New York is terrible, you should come to Hong Kong! The heat and humidity here year round is crazy… in a bad way!

I find that a ponytail and earrings are always my go-to to elevate a look. It’s just an added bonus that its extremely fuss-free and heat proof! The Cape looked like such a great time. I can’t wait to see what you and Becca get up to in Morocco later this month.

I clearly have no need for another white dress (it’s problematic), but I love this look on you so much that I very nearly just bought that dress 😉
I’ve also been living in white dresses and giant earrings in lieu of makeup / other jewellery and twisting my hair into a bun when I’m running around but then pulling it out just as I arrive wherever I need to be (so it looks nice and wavy, but doesn’t stick to my neck when I’m on the tube – which is hotter than hell at the moment!).
