I’ve been seeing so much gorgeous rope jewelry this summer. After purchasing this bracelet and drooling over this necklace, I decided to try my hand at making my own version. The below necklace incorporates a new favorite combo of mine – natural rope, sparkly crystals, and tough spikes. It also was the perfect way to use one of my favorite new supplies – foil tape. It’s a fairly easy project, with big impact – be prepared to get quite a few compliments! (PS – for a more subtle take on the rope necklace, try this!)
Materials / Where to BUY: 90″ 1/2″ wide Cotton Rope // Strong Glue (I used Gorilla Glue) // 5 Size 55 Silver Cone Spikes // Aluminum Foil Duct Tape // 3 Crystals – I used these exact ones. // 4 12.5mm long cord ends // Large Lobster Clasp // One large jump ring.
oh wow! this is so cool! Love the spikes and i love those crystals–very different! I actually have my first DIY (!!) up on my blog today. (A DIY neon nail polish necklace inspired by Dannijo’s Capucine) Check it out!
