DIY: Isabel Marant Inspired Tassel Bracelet

I mean… everyone needs a little Isabel Marant in their life… no?  A friend of mine sent me a link to this bracelet, and I knew I had to make it.  Hello – it’s hot pink, it has a tassel, and it sells at Net a Porter for $160.  I made it with materials I had laying around the apartment – you may not already have everything, but it will take you about 20 minutes and $10.00 – tops.  I absolutely adore mine and have no plans of taking it off any time remotely soon.

What you’ll need:

Start by weaving your ribbon through the first link of your chain.

Continue to weave the ribbon through the chain.  Try to keep it as flat as possible… but a twist or turn won’t make or break your bracelet.

Thread all the way through the last ring..

And then, weave back through, so that the links that were not covered on the way over get covered.

Weave til the very end, and then double knot your ribbon and cut the ends.

Attach the large jump ring to one side…

And the clasp (via the small jump ring) to the other side.

And then, we’ll tackle the tassel.  Start by smoothing out your scrap of chiffon.

Slowly roll and fold the chiffon until you have a nice little bundle, like below.

Take your gold wire and haphazardly wrap it around the top of the bundle.

Your tassel is formed.  Now, use the remaining wire to attach the tassel to the jump ring by weaving it through a few times.

Wrap the remaining ends around the tassel… and you are done!

Mission accomplished.  Wear it all summer and let the compliments roll in!

Many of you asked about my nail polish!  It’s an old Sally Hansen XTreme Wear Shade… Pacific Blue!  It’s long sold out but still available here.
