DIY Holiday Floral Arrangement.

And today, we’re trying something new! If you’re a regular reader, you know that I love a good DIY, but when it comes to floral arrangement, I’m definitely a novice. It’s something I’ve always wanted to learn about, but my own centerpieces usually consist of bodega roses + maybe a little bit of greenery. Last week though, the team at L’Atelier Rouge (a super cool floral design company located in the flower district of Manhattan) invited me to stop by for an afternoon of floral arranging. We shot three different (crazy easy) tutorials, and this is the first!

This arrangement is like a festive wreath, for your table. It also smells incredible. We used white flowers + pieces of pine and cypress to make it, and it’s currently on my coffee table at home!

You’ll Need…

  • A short vase
  • A strong rubber band
  • Pine Foliage
  • Cypress Foliage
  • White Helleborus
  • White Mini Cyclamen
  • White Amaryllis
  • White Eskimo Rose

Wrap the rubber band around the vase, and then begin inserting pieces of pine and cypress.

Continue doing this until it’s totally full.

Take a plate and add a bit of water to the bottom. Set your arrangement down in the middle of it. This allows the pine + cypress to drink up some of the water, allowing your arrangement to last longer.

Fill the vase with water, and begin adding your white flowers.

Continue adding. I liked mine a bit off center so I added the roses to one side and then put the smaller ones to the other side.

Voila… you are all done!
