DIY: Feather Peplum Top

I was thrilled when Otte (one of my favorite boutiques in NYC) asked me to collaborate on a little DIY.  We decided to spruce up one of their classic T Tops, embellishing it  for holiday.  The peplum trend is so hot right now so I thought… why not make a feather peplum!?  One of the best things about this project is that peplums can be hard to wear if the peplum doesn’t hit you properly.  I personally have a long torso so tend to look silly in peplum tops as the peplum hits too high on me.  When you make your own, you get to decide where the peplum goes… ensuring that you get the most flattering results possible.

P.S.  Otte is giving all S&S readers a little discount when you purchase the ballet pink T Top!  Just use code SS25.  Ends 12/31/12

Materials/Where to Buy:  Otte T Top // Approx 3.5 yards ostrich feather trim // Jewel It Glue

Embellishment (huge selection here) // Needle & Thread

Voila… you are done!  (Pretty easy, no?)

Hi Maneet, Thank you so much. Mine is a Rolex.. sorry, know that’s expensive! I think Michael Kors has a similar version.

Hi Grace, the link to the embellishment selection doesn’t seems to be matched up. Would you mind redirecting it? This project is stunning and I look forward to recreating this over the holidays!

    Thanks!
