DIY: Chanel Ring

Processed with VSCOcam

DIY… Chanel!?  I know.  Two words that don’t really go together.  This all started this summer – a bunch of us were out in the Hamptons remarking over Dree‘s gorgeous Chanel ring.  Turns out, her friend had made it for her out of a vintage Chanel button.  Pretty brilliant, no?  This is the best to add a little Chanel to your life for less (you could also make stud earrings, too!)  I spent hours trolling eBay for the buttons and personally like the peacoat style ones the best… they’re nice and big!

This one is as easy as it gets!

DIY Chanel Ring Materials

Materials:  Vintage Chanel Button // Wire Nippers // Ring Form // E6000 glue

Using your wire nippers, remove the shank.  This may take a little while to get it nice and smooth.  You could also use a metal file.

It will look like this.

Apply a drop of glue to the back of your ring form.

Carefully stick your ring form to the back of the button and press for 30 seconds.

Amazing! I love this idea. One of the vendors in the Bryant Park Winter Village used Chanel buttons as necklace clasps on pearls and I SO wanted one.

I totally love this!! At first I saw the title and I thought it would involve recreating the logo or something, but this is WAY cooler. Now to get my hands on a Chanel button…

What a fun and easy idea! A friend made me earrings out of old pins before – I bet you could do that too (though you’d have to have stronger ears or find smaller buttons)!

Like everyone else I absolutely love this idea! I don’t have any Chanel buttons but I do have a pair of Chanel earrings that I don’t really wear because one of the earrings came off the post and now I’m afraid of it falling off. I might have to repurpose it as a ring especially considering how easy it is.
