What A DAY. I am so grateful to Vineyard Vines for inviting me down to Louisville for the Kentucky Derby as it was a definite bucket list day. I have wanted to go to the Derby for-absolute-EVER but this was my first time attending. Not surprisingly, it was so much fun! I originally had only planned on doing one post about the whole weekend but Demi’s photos (horses in the rain = magic) were so gorgeous that I decided to take my time here and split it into two posts. It was definitely an experience I will never forget and something I’d encourage you to do if you have the chance. I didn’t even end up betting on any horses… I just loved being there – drinking a mint julep, dressing up, and some truly epic people watching.
PS – my dress is on sale! I specifically chose it as I wanted something I could wear again.. it would be so perfect for summer parties. I wanted my look to be preppy but not tooooo preppy so I added crazy green sunglasses and my favorite emerald green sandals.
What I Wore: Vineyard Vines Dress (c/o) // Jenny Pfanenstiel Fascinator (c/o) // Candy Shop Vintage Earrings // Candy Shop Vintage Bracelet // Dolce & Gabbana Banana Leaf Sunglasses (pictured later, they’re old but Amazon seems to have them? Unclear if they’re real… I bought mine on eBay last summer) // Loeffler Randall Coco Slides (the best and love the new lower height version!)
photography by Demi Ward.
What a fun day, I loved how everyone dressed up so enthusiastically! You all look so fancy! 🙂
