Happy 2017, friends! I took Friday + Monday off in favor of spending time with friends from out of town. It felt like everyone was visiting New York for New Year’s, so I got in quite a bit of friend time which was so nice. My New Year’s Eve was low key but so much fun. I went to my friend’s house in Bed-Stuy for a delicious, homemade surf & turf dinner. We laughed, we danced, we played Heads Up, and I didn’t get back home til nearly 4am – it’s been a while since I last did that!!!
Besides fun with friends there was also quite a bit of TV watching. I watched The OA in a couple days – anyone else? It’s gotten mixed reviews… everyone I know either loves it or hates it. I’m a bit lukewarm (and processing that final episode) but I would love to hear your thoughts if you’ve watched it too!
As a side note, this is my favorite coat. I bought the gray one two years ago and the red one last year and I live in both of them. I love that J.Crew Factory makes a version as well. There are a few less bells & whistles (zippers, etc) but it’s still just as cute! Last but not least, the PR girl for Sanctuary told me that these jeans magically shrink your hips. And they do. They are one of the most flattering pairs of jeans I’ve put on, and I love that they also happen to be under $100!
Also! I didn’t manage to get Saturday’s weekend reading post up, but I still had links to share… scroll down for those!

This LOFT sweater is the best. I have a long torso so I like a longer sweater. Basically, whenever I see “tunic sweater” on LOFT, I hit buy. It’s never actually a tunic on me… just the perfect sweater that hits right below my hips. You may remember that I also have this cozy turtleneck from them and it’s the same deal. Just long enough.

I love the grey LOFT sweater and whole second look in general, but I also adore your red coat! So smart!

Aw thank you Charmaine! xo
LOVE the parka! I have it in the camel color! My sister lives in Bed Stuy! So funny. Glad you took some time to hang out with good friends.
Oooh I love the camel one!!! If I were to order a third, that would be it… but 3 of the same coat feels a bit silly. I love the navy too.
Isn’t Bed Stuy great? My friend has such a nice place… two stories, and a back yard. It really makes you rethink spending so much money to live in a tiny place in the city…
Where can I find a leopard coat similar to the one you have?
The one you have is sold out and so many others ones are very bulky… any ideas?
I would appreciate it, thx:)
Ugh it is so sad, this is the first leopard coat that I’ve found and truly loved. I hope they bring it back next year as it is truly the BEST.
I think what made this one so great is the smoother fabric (it lays like real fur – not too bulky) and the fact that it doesn’t have a collar. For whatever reason, I really dislike fur coats with collars – it makes me think of a pimp, haha!
Here are a few that I tracked down. I have not tried any of these on, but they look similar to mine. Let me know if you decide to try any of them – and if they work!
1 – This one looks a lot like mine – and it’s only $68!! https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=504321916&pid=uid7025-504705-83
2 – Probably what I would order as I have a lot of success with Topshop. I don’t love this photo of it, but I think it’s probably better in person (a lot of Topshop’s photography isn’t very good) https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=613303562&pid=uid7025-504705-83
3 – A totally different color than mine but super chic (note they only have one left in a UK 10, which is a US 6) https://api.shopstyle.com/action/apiVisitRetailer?id=540018199&pid=uid7025-504705-83
I hope this is helpful! xo
Thank you G for sharing my post! So glad this blogging world brought us into one another’s lives!! Happy New Year! XO
Me TOO! My first blogger friend! 🙂 xo
I like longer sweaters too. Glad to know about the loft tunic length.
Yay – they are the best, and LOFT has so many good ones!!!
Love this color on you pretty lady 🙂
Thanks sweet friend… miss your face! xo
Your jacket looks so cozy.
It’s a really good one!!! 🙂 Thanks, Sophie!
That was so helpful:)
You are so sweet to take the time not only to answer me but to give me options as well. I really appreciate it!
Aw, of course! You can always email me too if you are looking for something in particular. I’m sorry it sold out. It is the best coat ever. I think the Topshop version is probably the best alternative!
Love that coat- it’s such a fun color to brighten up a winter day!! xo Devon Seventeen Dresses
Thank you so much Devon! xx
I have wanted that coat for YEARS now…one of these years I will actually buy it! It looks so good on you.
