Annnd it’s Christmas Eve! Hope you are somewhere warm and cozy and under a blanket… with a big mug of hot chocolate (for now… and maybe a mug of eggnog later on?)

This has actually been a rough few days for the Atwood clan. On Sunday night my mom had just finished up a long day of work and slipped and fell in the dish room of our family restaurant… breaking her arm. I feel overly dramatic saying this but nothing has ever happened to my mom before… I completely freaked out. My sister, brother-in-law, and I dropped everything and drove home early Monday morning. There have been a lot of tears and not very much sleep. Luckily this week is a slower one and BaubleBar was very understanding…  I feel so lucky that we were able to leave as soon as my dad called us.

We’ve spent the past couple days shuttling back and forth between home on Cape Cod and the hospital in Boston. Her surgery was yesterday and it went well… she should be able to come home tomorrow…. maybe this afternoon if we’re really lucky. I’m just thankful that she is okay and that it wasn’t worse. As bad as the whole situation has been, it could have been waaayyyy worse. The timing is certainly not ideal… my parents are restaurant owners and tonight is their second busiest night of the year. My dad has had to work most of the week and we’re all pitching in to make sure the night goes smoothly. I’m going to attempt to fill in for my mom hostessing tonight… we’ll see how that goes! 😉

So sorry to hear about your mom’s arm, sending her healing vibes and good luck to you hostessing. You know I know how hard it is to have a broken arm, I can’t recommend CastCoverz.com enough for supplies to make your mom more comfortable (especially the castcooler, it’s AH-MAY-ZING!). The happiest of holidays to you, Grace!
