I always say that my parents’ house (my childhood home) on Cape Cod is my happy place. There’s nothing better than being home with my family… especially in the summer.
This particular trip was longer than usual (a whole week!) and a little bit gluttonous… I’m still paying for it. Lobster rolls, ice cream… we certainly indulged. But it was so much fun. Here’s a little photo diary of sorts. If you’re planning a Cape Cod trip anytime soon, be sure to check out my other Cape Cod posts. What to pack (here + here), and of course… my travel guide.
Basically, my uniformΒ these days… a flowy Mi Golondrina dress + Holst & LeeΒ tassel.
My sister Becca + her husband Steve.
We went to sushi one night at our favorite Japanese restaurant, Inaho. Their sushi is incredible… my parents think it’s the best sushi in the Northeast, and they know their stuff. The dish above is their scallop sashimi, which is out of this world. It comes stuffed inside a lime.
Three of my favorite things right now: This Vineyard Vines dress, this Calypso bag, and my gold birks.
We spent several days at the Dennis Yacht Club, which is a misleading name as there aren’t any yachts… but it’s a fun place to go hang out and the lobster rolls are amazing.
And many early evenings on the patio… entirely too much rosΓ© + food from my parents’ restaurant!
The oysters bienville at my parents’ restaurant is completely ridiculously good. Giant oysters, baked with pancetta, cream, tomatos, peppers, + other goodness. We had these nearly every night.
My sister Becca painted this mural inside the garden room at my parents’ restaurant. She’s so talented!
Lobster rolls at Sesuit Harbor Cafe… a tradition!
My mom’s new dog Muddy… she’s the cutest (and a little bit of a terror!)
I can’t wait to go back in a few days (I have another wedding there this weekend…)
PS – My sister posted her photos from the trip here.
Mmmm, all of the food looks super delicious! I’m a huge sushi/ Japanese cuisine fan so right now I have a big craving to take care of tomorrow. π
You look so pretty in that boho dress on the 2nd and 3rd photo.

Love this little glimpse at your vacay! I’ve actually never been to Cape Cod but your posts make me want to go so bad. Also, I’m now craving lobster rolls BIG TIME. π
i love the mural! My sister has a knack for doing things like that, too (and it makes me wish I was better at painting/drawing). Thank you again for sharing my post on your weekend reads – it meant a lot! Enjoy the week ahead!
Muddy is adorable! Is she a welsh terrier? We got one at the nursing home that I work at and she is so cute! They definitely have sassy personalities π
She’s half welsh terrier and half airedale! She’s a cutie but yes, so sassy!!
Looks like a prefect way to relax the summer away! I have never been to Cape Cod but these pictures make me want to go! I love your dresses by the way. Super adorable! And the lobster rolls…uh yes please! I wish I had those when I was pregnant! (I craved lobster! haha).

Yum/beautiful! Looks like a gorgeous place for a relaxing reprieve — the lobster rolls and ice cream are well worth extra gym time later!
