Did you read that piece last year about getting your body ready for Caftan Season? It was forwarded to me by several friends, all over my Facebook feed, and really made me laugh. You have to love a good caftan though… and also, the fact that you can pretty much eat whatever you’d like while wearing one.
But today’s post is all about my sandals. Have you heard of Beek? The brand is founded by two best friends and makes some of the cutest, comfiest sandals around. Think simple, classic artisanal construction… but with a molded footbed for maximum comfort. (Why are so many flat sandals completely flat?) This is a personal gripe of mine as so many flat sandals out there provide very little support… I end up going with low heels just to get a little arch support. These manage to be super stylish (they remind me of a pair I bought in Greece years and years ago!) but also very comfortable.. they’re hand-made and within hours of putting them on, magical things will happen: the footbed molds to your feet for a “custom” fit, and the leather straps loosen up to give you the perfect fit.
I’m wearing the Lark Sandal in the brand’s brand new platinum leather and I just love them. I wore them all over Bermuda! They’re my personal favorite, but you can check out the rest of the line at beekshop.com. What I really love about the line is that each pair is timeless – they’ll never go out of style and will only get better with age.
On top of that stylish/comfortable goodness, the brand is committed to helping end hunger worldwide: with every purchase, the brand donates a meal to a child in need.
We shot these photos (in Bermuda) at our hotel, after an afternoon by the pool. I still can’t get over how beautiful the island was… every backdrop was more beautiful than the next!
(Pardon my hair, it was windy out!)
