Blush Crush.

Hooray for Friday! Posting a bit later than usual as I had meant to write this post last night but then ended up going out for spontaneous drinks. Sorry. But not really sorry. Lately I’ve felt like for the first time in so long I’ve been just living life rather than sitting home and writing about it, or being constantly chained to a desk. (Still, sorry for posting late… the type-A inside is annoyed at myself. I need to find a balance and better manage my time… ha!) I had an event after work and then went to Hallie’s Soul Cycle class (did you see? She’s officially on the calendar!) and was heading home to work but ended up going out instead. Way. more. fun.

But the clothes. I mentioned in another post that I’ve been having a lot of luck with Topshop this Spring. So many pretty lace dresses with fun details. My trick is just to always size up as they’re generally cut pretty narrow. I love this dress and the pretty crochet accents… and I love the color! It will probably look better once I get a bit more color on my legs, but such is life. I also picked up this blue/green one (and love, love, love it… it’s one of the prettiest things in my closet and I always get asked about it when I wear it) and this lace crop top. Love, love, love.

Enjoy the weekend, friends… (and cheers to more spontaneous drinks.. I highly recommend it!)

I love that bag! Funny thing is, I was carrying around a similar pink tote last week that I ordered from Forever 21: http://www.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=f21&Category=acc_handbags-tote-bag&ProductID=1000056001&VariantID=

Thanks to your post, I know I can upgrade it now!

Love the whole look (the shoes are to die for)!

I’m such a Topshop fan, and I may have to go find your dress immediately!

P.S. Ever since you changed your work schedule to better fit your lifestyle, you look noticeably more relaxed and happier in your photos. Balance is something that I’m trying to work on too, so thank you for sharing!

This dress is so pretty on you! I’ve been eyeing it forever but worry it will be too short. For reference, how tall are you?

I think you should go for it! I’m just under 5’8! For reference, I usually wear a size 6 in dresses and a size 8 from TopShop. I ended up buying a size 10 because I was worried it would be too short, and while it’s a bit loose, I’m really glad I sized up.

I love the bag and the trench coat! I am thinking of getting that stone coloured trenchcoat but a bit worried about it getting dirty – especially since it would be quite a investment! What has been your experience? do you do anything to take special care for it?

      Hi Cindy,

I don’t do anything special in particular, but whenever it’s looking a little dingy I take it to the dry cleaner (probably only once or twice a year) and it comes back looking like new! It’s definitely an investment, but I’ve found that the fabric is pretty resistant to getting dirty – and when it does, the dry cleaner fixes it up! 😉

    Hi!
    I love your style!
Just thought I’d ask: could you tell me what UK size you wear in your beautiful Burberry Kensington trench?
I’m thinking of ordering one since they don’t sell them where I live but I’m not really sure of how it is in sizing…
    Thanks!

      Hi Wanja!

My coat is a size US 8, which works out to a UK 12 I believe. I typically wear a US 6/UK 10 and would recommend sizing up! Hope that helps! xx
