blow – the new york blow dry bar – launch party: blow out non-stick hair spray.

Tonight marked a particularly momentous occasion for me, as I was invited to stop by my first ever blogger event… the launch party for Blow Dry Beauty Bar’s new hairspray… “Blow Out.”
I was already an easy convert to Blow’s line of products after playing “model” this past Sunday and experiencing the entire line. All of their products are designed to be as weightless as possible (thereby facilitating Blow’s gorgeous signature bouncy/wavy blow out.) Somehow they leave your hair glossy and shiny but not heavy… genius!
But the new hair spray is the newest and hottest thing from Blow, (launching now at Ulta nationwide.) What makes it so special is that it is created specifically to finish off a blow-out and prevent frizz & flyaways… without weighing hair down.
It contains soy and silk and actually extends the life of your blow out. (Without any yucky stickiness or crunchiness.) The best way to use it is to (after your blow out,) flip hair upside down or to the side… and then spray throughout sections. Work the product through your hands with your fingers and then flip hair back. The result will be maximum fullness, a resuscitated blow out, and the sexy volume that comes from a signature “Blow Out.”
Guests were invited to mingle, sip prosecco, and get hair touch-ups, and (obvi) learn about the virtues of the product. On top of that, their fabulous creative director David presented 3 (relatively) easy to do looks for Spring. First, a messy braid… then, the classic “Blow Out,” and lastly, a gorgeous textured ponytail.
I learned a few tips and plan to (attempt) to create the textured ponytail and messy braid on my own.  One of the things I learned was to (after straightening,) use the curling iron in different directions, to mix things up and create more texture. And to create the messy braid, it helps to tease at the crown and then pull on each section of the braid to muss things up a bit.
It was a fun event and we all took home full and purse-size versions of the product.
I can’t wait to go back for a real blow out… and to attempt to create the featured looks on my own.  Especially that adorable pony.
And the hair spray is truly fab.  (I would tell you if it wasn’t.)  Might even (gasp) replace my Elnet.  I’ll have to do a side by side to decide which one I like better.
