Hello, Friday! Last night was one of those random New York nights that ended up being amazing. I was finishing up work and about to head to SoulCycle when one of my girlfriends asked me to be her “date” for a dinner party with Makers. Without knowing much about Makers, I immediately accepted as it was being held at Clocktower (the restaurant in the Edition hotel – it’s amazing) and I’d always wanted to go. So I ran across town to my workout, ducked out slightly early, got ready in twenty minutes, and made it to dinner in time. Whew. Thank goodness for dry shampoo.
The evening turned out to be incredible. Little did I know, Makers is this fantastic organization dedicated to empowering strong women and sharing their stories. I found myself sitting around a table with my friend, a jewelry designer I’ve always admired, the founder of the organization, and an up & coming actress. We talked a lot about women’s rights, and what the world will look like forty years from now. I left dinner feeling inspired, empowered, and wanting to just be better at everything I do. It was a really awesome night and I feel so grateful to have attended.
