It’s no secret – I love a good party. And a party that incorporates beauty products and shopping? Heaven! Last night, Birchbox threw down a fun one. They transformed their office into a super-fab event space – complete with pink flowers and treats (jelly beans, cupcakes, and taffy.) The open bar didn’t hurt either… the wine was a-flowing (or at least it was for my sister and I.) Possibly the coolest part? If you spent $60, you got a free feather hair extension.
I got to see my pals Katia, Mollie, and Meredith; and meet some new-er members of the Birchbox clan (Eric, Alta, Jess, Lorelei, plus Birchbox’s highly talented resident makeup artist, Nam Vo.) Eric introduced me to an amazing new eyeliner (see below,) and Nam provided honest makeup tips.
Product was literally flying off the tables. The knowledgable Birchbox team had me wanting to buy everything I saw… dangerous!!! I did however, try and buy three new products, which I’m already totally obsessed with.
Beauty discoveries from the evening:
Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Glow Pads:
These bad boys exfoliate, self-tan, and anti-age – all in one swipe. Enough said. I tried ’em out yesterday AM before buying the full-sized pack and fell in love. Great for travel, too.
Sue Devitt Eye Pencil:
Richly pigmented, amazing colors, goes on like butter. Idiot proof (because I may be a product-junie, but I’m still sort of an idiot when it comes to applying makeup.)
Oribe Dry Shampoo / Texturizing Mist:
Katia (Birchbox co-Founder) was spritzing this stuff on tissues for shoppers to smell. It’s stop-you-in-your-tracks amazing. The smell is to die for, and the packaging is so pretty. You can also spritz it on your ends to give a beachy type of feel.
And yes, sister and I got feathered! That’s my sister above, proudly rocking her rainbow feather. Can we just talk about how pretty she is? I got lavender. Want one? Birchbox just started selling them here – so so fun and fab!
