The Best (Chic) Workout Gear.

The Best Workout Gear - The Stripe (Chic, functional gym-wear that gets the job done while looking stylish!)

I will be honest. The concept of athleisure is still kind of lost on me. Or rather, the concept of athleisure where you go from the gym to cocktails or brunch is lost on me. You really expect me to wear my sweaty gym garb to brunch? Hell freaking no. I like to be clean, and I like to look nice, and I don’t care how cute those leggings are… if I’ve been sweating in them, they will not be going to brunch. Anyone else feel like that? The leisure part – I get that. I work from home and often hang out in my workout leggings all day long (BEFORE going to the gym, that is).

For that reason, until more recently, I didn’t really invest in my gym wardrobe. Everything came from Old Navy. It was cute and functional and super inexpensive, so why not?

Then I got a trainer. And started to work like, really, really hard at the gym. I got arm muscles. Tiny ones, but still.. muscles. And I kind of want to look like a badass when I go to the gym. So I started looking around for cool workout gear. And I realized a lot of it could actually be worn to brunch (clean, of course). There is a lot of really great gym gear out there that is worth the investment. And so I’ve been slowly building up a little gym wardrobe.

Here are a few favorites but if you buy one thing it should be the ADAY leggings. I am obsessed with them… hopelessly. They are so sleek and flattering and have a pocket on the side for your phone. I like them better than any of my regular (non-gym) leggings. I really like these shiny capris too, but the ADAY ones are where it’s at! (They continually sell out, so just be prepared to wait a little bit.)

Clockwise from top left:  ADAY Tank // Tata Harper Soothing Muscle Gel // Alo Yoga Moto Leggings // Yogasmoga Mesh Tee (I have this and would wear it out as well) // Agent Nateur Deodorant (my FAV – read my full review here) // Nike Sports Bra // Nike Sports Bra // Koral Shiny Cropped Leggings // Splits59 Echo Tank // Sparkly Soul Headband // Nike Free Sneakers // Splits59 Mesh Tank // ADAY Leggings // S’Well Water Bottle // Nike Hoodie // Hair Ties

I don’t do too much of athleisure wear because once I’m done with my workout, I like to change into something fresh and clean. But I do love awesome workout clothes because I like wearing cool pieces when I’m working out! Love your roundup.

I also can’t really get on the athleisure trend. I like a level of sophistication to my clothing. Athletic clothing has it’s place…when I work out and sweat my butt off. These are cute though and I could consider them for actual workouts.

Have you tried Outdoor Voices yet? I discovered them since I’ve been pregnant and haven’t had a chance to try them yet. Their workout pants look especially fun! I wasn’t familiar with ADAY or Alo Yoga, but I’ll have to check them out too!
