I’m always hesitant to use the word “need” when we talk about clothes over here, because the reality is that you don’t actually need most of the things I post about. They are nice to have, that’s for sure, but “need” is a very strong word. That being said, if I were to say that you need one thing, it would be a great striped dress… and this one is my absolute favorite. Striped dresses can be tricky. I’ve said it before (while wearing my other favorite striped dress!) but it needs to be a nice thick fabric in a looser silhouette… otherwise it just isn’t veryflattering.
I will say that I did size up. I noticed that the (tiny) model on the French Connection website was wearing a 6, so I went with a size 8 as I wanted it to be nice and roomy. Julia, Jess, and I teamed up to style this little number three different ways. Be sure to pop over and see it on their blogs, here + here!!!
I hope you guys are having a great week. I started working with a personal trainer this week and am kind of dying… I’m so sore – every muscle hurts! It’s exciting though as I know it’s working. I’m going to have another Fit Files post for you soon but my goal is to get into really great shape for my trip to Cape Cod in July. I overdid it this month… too much pizza, too much rosé! On top of that I have gotten this yucky summer cold… so I spent the past two nights in… at home, reading. I finished this book last night and absolutely loved it! (I read it in two days!)
Outfit Details: French Connection Striped Dress (c/o, also available here) // Mansur Gavriel Tote (also love this great reversible under $50 look-alike!) // Loeffler Randall Starla Sandals // Julie Vos Large Link Bracelet // Julie Vos Baroque Cuff // Julie Vos Turquoise Earrings
There really is nothing better than fresh lilacs. My apartment is tiny, so even just one big bushel can make the entire space smell so, so good!

Looking so cute in this lovely, striped dress! Your tote is a perfect daytime bag. 🙂

I’ve been really great about getting my workouts in lately, but I haven’t been doing myself anyyyy favors when it comes to what I’ve been eating and drinking. Summer just makes me want to sit outside and eat/drink! Fit files are my favorite of yours! Looking forward to the next one 🙂
Love this dress! The fabric looks high-quality, and as you said that is essential in a dress like this. Funny about “needs,” as my Mom is always telling
me to list clothing into “wants” and “needs” and then only buy the needs. Never could quite adopt that strategy as then I would pretty much never get to buy anything! And buying “wants” (like for me, my one millionth white lace top) are somehow usually so much more fun than buying “needs.”
Loving how you styled this, and the pockets are just too cute!
I’m super picky with stripes too. It took me forever to get my first striped basic that I actually loved. From Brooks Brothers! A henley.
I also started back up with my PT and I got dizzy twice! Ah! Good luck to us!

I LOVE this Grace! The lilacs, the sandals, the tote, you look like a chic Parisian. xo Jess
Love! You are just too cute.
Love this! And so impressed that you are working out with a trainer, please let us know how it goes!
You look especially gorgeous here, and I love this whole look on you (I’m not sure if I want or need that striped dress / gold sandals / blush tote).
Hope you’re feeling so much better!
Briony xx
