Spring Shoe Guide.

the-twelve-best-spring-shoes

Today I’ve got Spring shoes on the brain! I know I’ve said it before but it’s official… I can’t look at my winter clothes any longer… let alone shop for them. So I’ve been doing a whole lot of wishful thinking – dreaming about open toed sandals, pretty slides, and wedges. It’s time to shop. Also, I might add that right now UGG is hitting things out of the park… (in the collage above styles 8, 9, 10, and 11 are all from UGG – available at Nordstrom.) Cute comfy, and affordable – perfect!

When it comes to shopping for Spring shoes, there are two key things I want to stress…

First, silhouette: The three key silhouettes (in my humble opinion) that you need are as follows:

  1. Wedges (think of a great sandal that you can where to the office or dance all night in at a wedding – and not stomp through the grass!!)
  2. Slides (my fave trend for Spring… comfy, flat… lots more slide options can be found here.)
  3. Something Strappy (that sexy sandal that you reach for time and time again. It can be a wedge (this pair is fantastic!) Bonus points if it has a block heel… another key Spring trend.

Second, color: This is boring but nearly all of my Spring shoes are in the same color family: nude, camel, or cognac. Nude heels elongate + slim your legs, and go with everything… so I don’t really see a reason to wear other colors. Of course I’ll buy a black pair here or there, and maybe a white pair because white shoes are so trendy right now… but for the most part, all of my Spring shoes are nude/camel/cognac. If I’m feeling adventurous or have a party, then I go for gold. Like I said, it’s a little boring, but it’s all about what’s most flattering: why would you choose a shoe that cuts your leg at the foot or ankle when you can have one clean line?

Nordstrom is my go-to for pretty much everything when it comes to shopping and they have a beautiful assortment of sandals… including my dream pair.

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve

Thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring this post.

I’m definitely a big fan of nude/camel colored shoes for summer! I can’t do slide on shoes though… they drive me bonkers and I find them sooo hard to walk in. Same with flip flops. I know people think they’re super comfy, but my toes curl up every step I take to like, keep them on and after about 10 minutes I just want something with a strap or a closed heel to keep them in place! Haha, but, I’m a weirdo. Loving #3 & #6 here!
