Oh my god you guys – this dress! I saw it at Macy’s and instantly fell in love. I mean, I love a good sequin dress but this one is just so good (it also comes in a very pretty burgundy and classic black). I have a little collection of sequin dresses but this one is my favorite – probably because of the brilliant silver color but also the cut. It runs pretty true to size with a slouchy fit. I bought a medium and the small probably would have worked but one of my personal style rules is that if something is sparkly/shiny, it shouldn’t be tight. Loose is almost always better when it comes to anything sequined, shiny, lurex, or beaded. You want it to drap… if it pulls or is even slightly tight, it will show, and that’s not cute! Also, when it’s loose you get some nice fluid motion as you walk… it looks like molten silver!
These sandals are shockingly comfortable for such a high heel (yes I know I sound like an old lady but if I’m going to be standing all night, I better be comfortable!) but it’s because of that nice chunky heel! They come in silver so I could have done a matchy tonal look but I really like mixing silver and gold… it’s a little more interesting. I added a pretty pink shawl and a geometric clutch (it comes in gold too!) and was ready to go. Rachel Roy has some stunning (under $100!) dresses at Macy’s right now – I also scooped up this one (in red), which I wore during my trip to Miami!
