Happy Monday! How are we already into mid-September already!?
I have said it before and I’ll say it again – Fall is always my favorite season to shop for. Cozy sweaters, denim, pretty shoes… it’s definitely the season I’ve invested the most in. Today I’ve teamed up with Macy’s to share a few classic basics that are 100% worth the money. The comfiest sweater, the best ripped jeans (they are so flattering), and pretty suede pumps that look chic but won’t break the bank! This is basically my everyday outfit formula – skinny jeans, a long-ish sweater, and of course heels… always heels!
I hope you guys have a great day. It’s all of the coffee for me over here today as I have a short week… I head to Charleston for a good friend’s birthday party weekend on Thursday!
Outfit Details: Free People Ribbed Tunic Sweater (size down – I’m wearing a small and it’s big!) // 7 for all Mankind Jeans // Steve Madden Pumps // Style & Co Wristlet
Free People makes my favorite sweaters, hands down. There’s no contest. They’re always so, so comfy… and cute… and they’re reasonably priced + well made. This one also comes in bright yellow and I think that will have to be next! I also really love this asymmetrical sweater (in cream!), this oversized v-neck, and this oversized turtleneck.
These Steve Madden pumps are so good. I’m wearing the “blush suede” pair… they are sort of a hybrid between tan and blush if you ask me. Whenever I’m asked for a more affordable alternative to my beloved Manolo Blahnik BB pumps, I recommend these (they have a black suede option that is a dead ringer)! I had been thinking about the Manolos in blush but was worried the suede would get dirty – these are the perfect alternative!

I love the sweater you’re wearing, and no wonder – it’s from Free People, one of my favourite brands. I need an oversized sweater this fall!

thank you! It’s so soft – I’m obsessed!
Silly question, but how do you store your sweaters? This is the first fall that I am starting to buy really nice items and I am worried about how to store them! Thank you for your advice!
The Adored Life
I don’t do anything special… I keep most of them folded neatly in my dresser… the ones I wear the most I keep on a shelf in my closet, and I hang my cardigans on velvet hangers.
I know people who use cedar blocks and/or wrap their sweaters in tissue but I just don’t have time for that!
I love this outfit! That sweater looks so, so comfy. I agree that Free People makes amazing sweaters! Best of luck being productive this short week! I hope the coffee helps! ๐

Thanks Miki! xx
I’d love some tips on buying ripped jeans. Candidly it’s difficult to want to buy jeans with holes since I usually want them pristine and perfect, but can’t help but think they look good.
Any tips on where the holes should be or if you have a good nominally priced suggestion 7 for All Man Kind just too much out of my price range. Also best wash for this season?
Would appreciate the tips.
Thanks! K of TAF
In terms of brands I’m not sure… I like Madewell’s denim! They’ve gotten pretty pricy over the years too though! I also love American Eagle.
For the holes, if you don’t want them to look sloppy I think you should avoid holes in the knees as those tend to expand and get bigger. Look for a pair that has just a little shredding, maybe by the pockets and on the thighs.
Okay, that sweater is everything! We totally need that! Love this outfit! Now only if the weather would cool down in NYC we could wear our sweaters every day!

Right!? The weather has been so erratic!!!
