Beauty Obsession: tarte lights, camera, splashes™ 4-in-1 waterproof mascara

Tarte-MascaraYou may or may not know this about me, but I am obsessed with my eyelashes.  Not obsessed as in, “oh, I have such pretty eyelashes…”  but rather, obsessed with making them look as long and luscious as possible, as they need all the help they can get.  For a while I was doing the whole extensions thing, but it got really expensive.  When you are spending more on your eyelashes than your hair, you know you have a problem.

Anyway, I’m still on the hunt for a less expensive place to get extensions, but in the meantime have basically tried every mascara known to mankind.  Seriously… it’s scary how many mascaras I have tried.

I have been loyal to Benefit’s They’re Real for ages (and still love it) but have been trying to find a natural brand that actually works.  And hen I tried tarte lights, camera, splashes™  4-in-1 waterproof mascara.  I was blown away by how good my eyelashes looked.  Longer, thicker, separated, defined… perfect.  My boyfriend noticed.  My friends noticed.  This stuff is magical.. and it’s all-natural, too!  It will change your life, seriously.

My only gripe is that it’s a little hard to get off… which now has me on the hunt for a good (natural) eye makeup remover.  Got any recs?

Try removing with a bit of almond oil! It worked on the most resistant makeup for me so far. I soak rose petals in it to make it smell really good.

Ohhh, I love Benefit’s mascara, so if this is similar, I know I’ll love this too. Tarte’s products are great!

I have read (though haven’t tried) using coconut oil as an eye makeup remover. It is natural and has a plethora of uses.
Now I have to try this Tarts mascara as well. I’ve been loyal to Chanel Inimitables Intense for a while, but want to branch out! Thanks for the review!

I use witch hazel and argan oil. Both all natural and both super reasonable and both work amazing well at removing all my make up. I ordered both right off amazon. Hope this helps!

p.s. we went to bentley together and ran x country! jackie sousa told me about your blog! love it! great job!

I’m a sucker for pretty packaging, so I might just have to give this a try on that alone! But in terms of a good makeup remover, I’ve been using Neutrogena’s Natural Fresh Cleaning and Makeup Remover for awhile now, and I love it! It doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and dry like other removers do.

I’ve worn the non-waterproof version by Tarte and was a big fan! To get waterproof mascara off I really love Mary Kay’s eye makeup remover!

I also just switched to this mascara (OK, not the waterproof one, but the regular one) from Benefit’s They’re Real! I couldn’t agree more. This is, by far, the best mascara I’ve ever used. I’ve had so many compliments on how great my eyelashes look! I found They’re Real difficult to get off… as in it would smear all over my face when I washed it at night. It was awful.

You are my lash guru – I must try this! I let my extensions fall out last month b/c it was getting expensive as well but am trying latisse now. It seems to be working but its a slow process!

I have an obsession with long, voluminous lashes too! You should try the Earth Science, Camomile & Green Tea Eye Makeup Remover from Wholefoods! It’s natural and works great for me 🙂

I used to use it and had the same problem! When I would take it off at night, it would BURN like crazy if I got any in my eye. Now I’m using Benefit, which I like a lot, but I’m still on the hunt for the perfect mascara.

I am so loyal to Benefit’s They’re Real as well – and have also seriously tried everything from the drugstore brands to the Diors…but now you’ve got me intrigued…! Also I see it mentioned above but was also going to say that dang coconut oil just does everything – I ran out a month ago and just hadn’t picked up a new jar so was using lotions and regular products – and just a couple days after going back to the c oil I am reminded of how amazing it is!

And CONGRATS on the big exciting upcoming collab girly – that’s amazing!
