Bachelorette Pad Inspiration.

the stripe: bachelorette pad apartment inspiration

One of the simultaneously most fun but also daunting parts of moving into a new space is getting to redecorate. This particular apartment is going to be a lot of fun. I literally have 4x the space of my old apartment (I’m not saying that to brag, I was living in a tiny Manhattan studio and now I live in a more residential part of Brooklyn) so it’s a huge change for me. I want to make it perfect… a chic little bachelorette pad of sorts. I mean, now’s the time to do it… I live alone so why not!?

I’m going for a sort of Beverly Hills Hotel/understated old school glamour vibe. Lots of neutrals with pops of blush pink, emerald green (banana leaf + palms!), and subtle pops of yellow. I want the space to feel ever so retro but also very clean and soothing to come home to.

In terms of furniture, I have not bought much yet! This week I’ve been super focused upon decluttering and finding homes for all of my stuff. I did purchase my bed (which I am obsessed with) and also took a page out of Kat’s book with two of these IKEA bookcases to store all of my bags and shoes in the bedroom. Furniture is going to be the hardest part. I have a good idea what I want for the dining area, but for the living room I am hoping to find a mid-century couch + set of chairs and have them reupholstered with some of my sister’s fabrics.

My sister and I both went b-a-n-a-n-a-s over the Palmyra lamp, above. Sadly it is $15,000. While on PB Teen (I spend entirely too much time on that site but guys – they have some gooooood stuff!) I found this floor lamp which has a similar vibe (at a price I can sort of actually afford, ha ha).

I already owned this Slim Aarons photo prior to moving. What’s funny is that I bought it a few months ago but hadn’t hung it up (it’s really heavy – I had to have a handyman do it for me). It’s as if I subconsciously knew I was moving! I’ve been slowly but surely starting a little art collection and this was my first real investment. Titled Monocled Miss, it features Renata Boeck enjoying breakfast in bed at the Regency Hotel in New York. I find it to be so glamorous. It’s the only piece of art I’ve hung so far… currently on display right over my bar cart!

I already have my Society Social Bar Cart but I included this image of Erica’s bar cart as I love how she styled it. So simple + chic. Also that Kate Moss photo…. I NEED.

And for the bathroom I could see myself doing something like this. I don’t have a medicine cabinet so I could easily wallpaper the bathroom and then just swap the mirror out for something a little more chic. 😉

I put together the below moodboard with a few of the pieces I’ve been ogling. It was reassuring to see that they look pretty nice together!

The photos are gorgeous, you picked a great inspiration. And good luck decorating, I know it can be hard to find the things we want but with time, everything will come together.

I’m moving soon too so I’m loving this post, I’ve been fixated on my kitchen the most. My vibe is more mid century with a dash of glam, I also want to incorporate some natural elements. I also though of adding some green with plants or an emerald green ottoman. This is so fun 🙂 can’t wait to see your place when you’re all done.

I’m so excited for you—the peeks you’ve given into your new space look amazing. If you haven’t already, check out Chango & Co in Brooklyn! She’s a designer I worked with a ton at my previous job and she is truly so sweet and talented. They recently opened up a brick and mortar that is A++ in Brooklyn—you’d love it!

I love that fabric of your sisters – just saw it in person and the subtle metallic running through it was so nice. Plus the reverse was also pretty, which is a big plus! Of all of her fabrics that one seems like the perfect one for the decorating scheme you described.
